章 15: Chapter 15

Ava led the way to the dining room, which was still intact, but the outside wall was bowing precariously. There weren't many people left in the hotel, but there was a large enough crowd to make the entire scene hectic. I cringed, not liking the thought of wading into that one bit.

"Mr. Belgarde, there aren't enough rooms for everyone to have their own."

I turned to see Chance talking with an employee off to the side of the mess before us.

"You misunderstand. My friend and I will share," he turned and pointed right at me, "with that group." He turned back, and I distinctly heard him mutter, "We all hate each other, so it's perfect."

The employee frowned at him, clearly having heard. "Once we set the rooms, there will be no changing. There aren't enough."

"Understood."

The employee wrote something on the clipboard with a sigh, handing him keys and giving Chance a nod before heading our way. I stood there, frozen, completely unable to pretend I hadn't heard everything.
