"Say, 'Papa~'. C'mon, I know you can do it, Little Ava! Say, 'Papa~'"
Dante kept trying to get his daughter to call him 'Papa', but to no avail. Little Ava would just stare at him curiously, wondering what he was doing.
It's been 60 years since Dante first brought Ava to socialize at Amanda's Fox Clan, which makes his daughter 80 years old! What's crazy is that although she's 80 years old, she's only about the size of a 9-month-old human baby. She's about 70 centimeters tall now and still has a lot of baby fat. Her hair has also grown and would touch the ground if she could stand.
Her wings have also grown along with her body and the bloodline coursing through her veins has made her much stronger than she was 60 years ago. She now has the power of someone in the 6th Realm of Cultivation even though she doesn't have an ounce of Qi in her body nor has she cultivated her body.
What's interesting though is that by human standards, this kind of strength for her age would only be average at best in some of the larger Sects. Well, that's only if you consider her age, but Ava technically isn't an 80-year old woman, but a 9-month old baby both in mind and body.
But this kind of growth has Dante a bit worried because by the time she goes through her adolescent phase, wouldn't she have already reached the peak of the Immortal Realm without even having to do anything?? What if she wants to enjoy the thrill of adventure or the enjoyment of progressing through the realms?
This has been stressing Dante out almost every day as he wondered if he should seal her bloodline power and ask her about it when she becomes a bit more self-aware.
Would she hate him if he did that? Would she hate him if he didn't seal her bloodline?
Dante honestly has absolutely no idea what the right approach is so in the end, he just decided to ignore it like any responsible parent! He'll think about this again when she can actually think and speak for herself!
"Papa~"
…
…
…
Dante stopped thinking about such nonsense when he heard the high-pitched angelic voice of his daughter! His mind went blank as the scene where Little Ava said 'Papa~' replayed in his mind over and over again. He was going to engrave this moment into his very soul so that even if he were to die, he still wouldn't forget this scene!
Luckily his mind works at a speed faster than light and he can replay the scene millions of times per second, so it only took him a few seconds before he engraved this moment into his soul.
He then ruffled Little Ava's hair and started praising her with a bright smile.
"Good! Good girl, Little Ava! Look how smart you are! What an amazing daughter I have! C'mon, c'mon, say 'Papa~' again! 'Papa~'. 'Papa~'."
"Hehe~ Papa~ Papa~ Papa~"
Little Ava started giggling while repeating the word she just said. Although she didn't know what it meant, all she knew was that it made the person who loved and took care of her the happiest.
The two of them kept repeating the same thing for the next ten minutes. Dante would try and get Little Ava to call him Papa, while Little Ava would say it because Dante kept saying it.
Then, in his excitement, Dante put Little Ava on the ground and walked a few steps away from her.
"Come here, Little Ava! Come to Papa!"
Dante started waving his arms for her to crawl towards him and at first, she was confused, but then she started to tear up.
"P-Papa… sniff… Papa…"
Dante started freaking out a bit and he wasn't sure why she was crying, but that didn't matter right now! He flickered over to her and started cradling her in his arms.
"Shh shhh. It's okay. Papa's got you. We can try doing that later. It seems Papa got too ahead of himself there."
"Hehe~"
Almost instantly, Little Ava's tears stopped falling and her expression went from sullen to giggling in a fraction of a second.
Dante was dumbfounded! This little minx tricked him! It's not that she didn't want to crawl towards Dante, she just wanted to be in his arms! He's been fooled by a child! How humiliating…
As if!
Dante is actually feeling proud of his child and it's not like he hates it either. He prefers holding her in his arms versus her crawling around or even worse… running around!! It's much better this way!
While Dante's chest was swelling up with pride, for some odd reason he felt the need to bra-cough share the news of how his amazingly genius daughter was calling him Papa! He found this feeling to be quite peculiar because even though his pride in himself knows no bounds, he feels no obligation to share his own accomplishments and achievements.
So naturally, as any sane and non-impulsive man like Dante would do, he holds onto Little Ava and teleports them both into his only 'friend's' house.
"Amanda!!! Get this!! Little Ava just called me Papa! Hahaha! How great is that?! Amazing, right?? Isn't she just the best?? So much better than you're stinky foxes! Hahaha!!"
Dante didn't even say hi and just started screaming and laughing at the dead asleep Amanda. Of course, this scared the living hell out of her as all the hair on her body raised and she jumped out of bed.
"Dante!!! What the fuck are you doing?! Can't you see I'm sleeping?? And why are you screaming?!"
Amanda cursed at him, something that both of them do quite often so neither of them paid any mind to it until…
"Fuck~"
"!!!"
Both of their minds went blank when they heard Little Ava's angelic high-pitched baby voice saying a 'bad word'.
"Fuck Papa~ Hehe~"
"Wha-!"
Dante stood there, flabbergasted, listening to his own daughter cursing at him with a smile on her face. Then his eyes turned cold as he stared intently at Amanda. This made the latter feel like she was dunked into the deepest layers of hell as shivers didn't just go down her spine but every other bone in her body as well.
"You! Look what you did! I only came here to show of-cough, I mean tell you that Little Ava's already learned to speak and somehow you've already managed to taint her with your foul mouth?!"
"Me?!?! How is this my fault?! You barged into my room in the middle of the night and started yelling at me!! This is your fault for being an idiot and not waking me up like a normal person!!"
"Papa~ Idiot~"
"ARGH!! Little Ava, please stop! You are going to get Mama killed!"
"Mama~ Mama~"
"Noooooooo!!"
"Hehe~"
Dante just stood there as his brain seemed to have short circuited for a moment. First his daughter cursed at him then she called him an idiot and now… now…
"You shameless woman! How dare you call yourself Little Ava's mother! Only I can be her Mama and Papa! You dare to steal that from me??! I'll kill you!"
Dante yelled at this dumbass fox lady trying to steal his daughter away, but unexpectedly Little Ava turned towards Dante and said something that greatly confused him.
"Mama? Papa?"
Now Dante didn't know what the hell to do! He just said that in the heat of the moment, okay? He doesn't actually want to be called 'Mama'! Why'd he even come here in the first place?!
Fuck!!
But who was Dante? He was a man who took great pride in himself, his work/accomplishments, and his daughter. So with a large smile and a face full of pride he answered:
"That's right! I'm your Mama and Papa! Haha!"
"Mama~! Papa~!"
Little Ava shouted and snuggled in his embrace, but unfortunately for them… they had a third person in the room.
"Pfft… HAHAHAHAHA!!
And that person just couldn't stop laughing.
Dante didn't want to bother with this dumbass vixen and directly teleported out of there, but this only served to make Amanda laugh even more.
