章 24: Ch 24:- Wendigo Massacre
In a cave a young boy could be seen meditating. Suddenly, he opened his eyes and a bright grin illuminated his face, he immediately leapt to his feet and began running and jumping around the cave while shouting "I finally did it!"
"Haha... who would have thought that someone like me would be able to unlock their qi within 2 hours without any external help? None," Rayne kept on laughing before coming to a stop.
He began to walk toward one of the boulders that were present in the cave. He took a stance, made a fist, and brought it near his waist. Then, he began to coat it and charge specific groups of muscles with his qi energy. In one swift motion, he threw a punch at the boulder. The punch produced exactly nine echoes in the air and and the impact of the punch formed a crack on the boulder and hence, is also one of the reason why it is called nine echoing punch.
Rayne once again started to grin before yelling,"Success!". He at first thought that the technique he learned would have not been compatible with qi but now all his tension was gone his chances of survival has once again increased.
He immediately called upon the movement technique [Art of Quickening] that he had recently learned, and immediately performed it by supplying qi to his legs while reinforcing his knee and ankle joints with it. He stayed still before vanishing from his spot like smoke and reappearing again exactly 5 meters away. It's as if his body is turning into mist and reappearing somewhere else. At that time a system message appeared.

Seeing the notification, Rayne felt exhilarated while muttering, "This is what makes training more fun when you can literally see your skill level up and reach new heights like some game character." After that, he immediately started grinding his skill, ahem, I mean, training his skill. He kept on training his movement skill until he depleted most of his usable energy. After that, he meditated to increase his qi recovery rate faster, and then he kept on repeating the process until the skill stopped leveling up.

"Now that my Art of Quickening skill is on a high enough level, I think I can now finally cross the wendigo-infested cave without needing to fight a hundred of them. But the main problem now is how to navigate through the illusions," Rayne said out loud.
"Hey Grace by any chance is it caused by some kind of hallucinogenic gas," Rayne asked.
[I have actually detected some amount of hallucinating gas presence there.]
"Then why didn't you notify me earlier,"
[Because you were busy learning about qi.]

'Sigh, I guess I will have to cross the whole thing while holding my breath such a pain,' as Rayne started to make his way to the door at that moment he remembered something and immediately asked his system
'Wait the creature I had slain earlier is it related to fish by any chance.'
[Yes, they are kind of related to it.]
'Then, they should also posses a swim bladder am I right?,'
[Yeah]
'That's it I just need to extract the swim bladder from it, it usually contains oxygen and if I am not wrong then I would be able to use it as a type of air bag,'
[Yeah, you could use it like that but you need to hope that it is not damaged.]
'Hmm, you are right, I think most of the Deep One's swim bladder are damaged because of the way I fought them them my only hope now is the mother of all, Dagon.'
Rayne made his way and started to cut open the creature in order to find the swim bladder, but unfortunately, it was damaged. Dejected, Rayne took deep breaths and summoned his odachi. He opened the door, activated his movement technique, and vanished like smoke, reappearing 10 meters away if one were to look all they would see is a flock of white mist navigating his way through the crowd at a very high speed. He continued to repeat the process, killing undead creatures blocking his path and occasionally throwing urns of oil on the ground as well as some of them. Finally, he reached his destination and climbed the wall to the cave entrance. As he struggled to breathe because he has been holding his breath for about 8 minutes. The system finally spoke after he entered the entrance may to another cave system.
[You could now breath it seems this place is blocked from the air that you just passes through with the help of some kind of magic.]
Upon hearing it, Rayne immediately started to take deep but controlled breaths, in order to get as much oxygen as possible. After that, he summoned a bottle of vodka from his system and started to stuff it with dry rags, which he had salvaged from the corpses. After a few minutes, he finally made his first molotov cocktail he then decided to make two more in case of emergency.
Before lighting up the Molotov cocktail, Rayne decided to increase the effectiveness of his attack by throwing even more oil urns at the undead. He threw them with incredible speed and precision, each urn hitting them and dousing them in oil. It seemed like he had an unlimited supply of them, but after throwing about 500, he stopped. Then, he lit the Molotov cocktail up and threw it at the undead, causing a chain reaction of fire that rapidly spread, burning them all. The sound of their screeching filled the air as they writhed in agony. Rayne was not satisfied with just one Molotov, so he lit another one and threw it far away, causing even more of the undead to burn.
As one of the undead died soon all of them started to die at that same moment he felt a vast amount of energy flow into his core reinforcing it, the feeling was quite addicting at the same moment a message appeared.

Seeing the notification he immediately summoned his secondary status window and there it was.
