Adult Rowan knew what came next even if he still didn't remember all the details. He'd forgotten almost everything until now, but the memory-scent of the lemons and the sound of his sisters' off-key song had brought it back.

Now the scene spread out around him like an unfinished tapestry. He wanted to live it again even though it hurt so that he could weave the missing details into his mind and complete the image of the day that changed his life.
