Luo Yu then went to the Gao family's ancestral home to check with the renovation workers. One of the workers said that he had seen Gao Lin. It seemed that someone had asked Gao Lin out to discuss some business, apparently about selling a house nearby to him. Recently, many people came to look for Gao Lin to talk about selling their houses. These workers were already used to it, so it did not occur to them that it would be the last time they saw him.

Yao Nian also gathered all the information very quickly at his end. Luo Yu returned to the hotel with a pile of documents but he could not find any trace of Qiao Mei even after searching the whole place. Then, he saw a cleaner in Gao Lin's room.

"Auntie, how did you get in?" Luo Yu asked curiously.

The cleaners would come round every day, but they could only enter the rooms if the guests agreed. Otherwise, the cleaners had no right to open the door and enter the room without permission.
