Rex panted heavily while pushing himself up with his broken spear.
How long? How long has he been fighting with this dragon? A minute? An Hour? A day? A week? Grabbing his right eye with his left, he let a frown form on his face. It was useless now and he had a new scar from below his right eye to his cheek from a stray wind attack.
Eyeing his spear, he knew it won't be able to handle one more attack from him.
'Now we can fight as warriors! Hand to hand! It is the basis of all combat! Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon!' That quote. He remembered it so fondly,
'That's my last Lithic spear.' He thought as he spun it around and dropped to a stance, one focusing on speed and a single thrust.
Embracing the flow of Geo onto his body, his mortal shell soon became empowered with Geo, arms turning to a similar color towards the earth with glowing lines resembling wind currents, his left eye glinted with a shade of amber. His heavily damaged spear's lines sang with the power of Geo as he held it tightly.
Muscles clenching, he waited for the right moment as the dragon appeared in front of him.
'I can't beat him like this but those purple things... I can destroy them,' Rex thought as his muscles tensed and the earth below him rumbled.
The earth below him was rumbling, eager to help. His vision of Geo, able to harness the power of the earth itself eagerly moved with his will. Missiles of condensed winds were countered by seep blades of stone and earth, protecting his form.
But sadly, it was not enough.
The young man noticed it. The cracks on the area he was standing on were covered with magical energy.
'Shit!' He felt it! He was getting crushed by the wind pressure from the dragon's winds.
"Suffer pretender!" The dragon roared as it charged up another barrage of its wind missiles.
Only one last choice. Reaching towards the very energy of Geo itself through their location's leylines, the young man pulled it up. A mountain formed behind him much to their surprise, No, not a mountain but a volcano!
Molten earth spewed from the volcano and knocked the sky dragon out of the sky. But it took too much from him. He collapsed to all fours and he felt his heart pound harder on his chest. His volcano attack was strong enough to knock down that dragon but... He could feel his body getting weaker. He was not strong enough yet to use that technique and it melted his spear.
He was out of weapons, his lithic spear was destroyed and his skyward spine was with mister Zhongli for him to repair. He now only had his finger guards and he knew it was over.
'No... it's not over yet!' He thought as he pushed himself up and flexed his fingers. And he felt it, strength and power flowed into his being. Unknown to him, his new scar transformed into a green pinwheel. His breathing got better and he did not feel as tired as before.
The amber glow from his eyes changed to teal, and several strands of his hair also glowed, thousand winds sang as he stood up and threw his trench coat off.
'It's so peaceful.' He thought as he felt the wind dance around him, welcoming and singing for him.
"Congratulations for unlocking your Gnosis!" A rather familiar voice said. "Ehe! Defeat Dvalin and destroy the poison coursing through his veins."
Rex just sighed as he looked at the dragon, foreign memories assaulted his mind.
Around two thousand years ago, Dvalin was born from a convergence of elemental energy in the high heavens. This young dragon was very curious and descended to the continent of Teyvat to observe the world around him. As an enormous and powerful dragon, his presence frequently but unintentionally caused havoc and destruction around him, resulting in fearful or spiteful reactions from humans. Dvalin did not yet understand the consequences of his actions and was thus confused and hurt by the treatment he received.
One day, attracted by the music from the Holy Lyre der Himmel, he landed next to Barbatos, the Anemo Archon of The Seven, and the deity of Mondstadt. Though the humans panicked, Barbatos remained calm and sang of the dragon's beauty. Seeing that the god wished for him to be understood as well, Dvalin decided to stay by his side and befriended him. He learned human speech and the Archon's singing techniques.
A thousand years ago, following Vennessa's rebellion against the Mondstadt Aristocracy, the Four Winds were established. Dvalin was Dragon of the East, Andrius the Wolf of the North, and Vennessa simultaneously the Lion of the South and the Falcon of the West.
Approximately five hundred years ago, the land was engulfed by the cataclysm. Durin, a black serpentine dragon, rose from the abyss to cast its shadow over Mondstadt. The prayers of Mondstadt's people awoke the Anemo Archon, and his will summoned forth the Wind Dragon Dvalin. As Mondstadt's last line of defense, the two battled the wicked dragon to the death in raging storms. Dvalin ultimately prevailed, tearing open the throat of the wicked dragon at the cost of ingesting its poisonous blood. Dvalin protected Mondstadt with his life, and his only wish was to be understood by humans. He then fell into a slumber
Tears fell from Rex's eyes. He understood the dragon, no, Dvalin. And he wanted to help him. He was alone just like him, eager to prove themselves to be understood.
And instead of attacking, Rex stopped and let the element of Geo surrounding him disappear. He understood, he shouldn't fight with him but rather.
In bright light, his lyre appeared in his hands. Before it transformed to a pristine guitar, his clothes tattered and torn from hours of fighting the lord of the sky changed to a pristine white outfit.
A white opened jacket with the sleeves rolled to his elbows, embroidered with wind and pinwheel patterns embroidered in its tails with the real symbol of Anemo on its back standing proudly. He did not wear a hood but rather, he has a blindfold on his eyes as he gazed to the sky, black pants turning to the color of the earth as same as his boots, he smiled as the lyre became a guitar.
He waited for the dragon of wind to come and he did. The wind dragon weakly landed in front of him with a roar, pained blue eyes from centuries of pain caused by the poison of his veins, the pain of being feared by the people of the country he protected... Rex saw it all. He understood.
gently strumming his guitar, the young man was used away by a blast of wind from the wind dragon and landed awkwardly on the ground. His white clothes were now stained with dirt, yet Rex did not mind. He just stood up and reached for his guitar even if the left side of his blindfold was stained red with blood.
'I need... to let him know. He's not alone anymore. Rex thought as he felt everything change around him. Strumming his guitar, he could feel the wind dance with each note from his instrument. Looking up towards the dragon preparing, the young man started to sing, a soft teal glow escaping his blindfold and hair,
"Dvalin, I am humble, for tonight I understand," Rex sang as he slowly approached the wind dragon. Dvalin saw him and the image of his friend overlapped with him for a second. "Your royal blood was never meant to decorate this Earth."
"You've suffered great injustice. So have thousands before you." Rex sang as Dvalin flew towards him, wind covering his form. "I offer an apology and one long overdue." Rex sang sincerely and the dragon stopped and landed in front of him, his face inches away from the human's body
"I am sorry, Dvalin, I am sorry." Blue eyes widened as its massive frame trembled at the young man's sincerity. "Hear my song, I know I sing the truth" Having enough of his farce, the sky dragon raised its claw, wind forming around it.
"Although we were bred to fight." A painful memory flashed on Rex's mind as a younger him was beaten for not being able to kill a simple rabbit. "I reach for kindness in your heart tonight, and if you can forgive." Dvalin's frame trembled as it brought its claw down, not towards Rex, but to support itself as he felt it. This human was sincere and was just like him. A lonely soul who just wants a friend, like he once did.
"And if you can forgive, love can truly live." Rex knelt in one leg as he sang towards Dvalin, completely trusting the dragon of Anemo for whatever he will do next. Dvalin did not feel pain but rather he felt relief as purple mist evaporated from his body. The thousand winds dispelled the poison from his foe and nurtured his wounds. "And if you can forgive, and if you can forgive, love can truly live."
'That's right... this child is like Barbatos,' The Dragon thought as it rested in front of him. The song from the guitar healed him and soothed his aching soul.
"Dvalin, I am frightened, but I'll use my final breath," Rex sang as he approached the dragon, the redness of his blindfold getting darker, "to tell you that I'm sorry, let us end this dance of death
Centuries of agony, that tore your heart with Grief. Here and now with my amends, this senseless fighting ends."
A drop of blood escaped Rex's lips as he played. he needed to save Dvalin, to let him know he was not alone.
"I am sorry, Dvalin, I am sorry." "Hear my song, I know I sing the truth
Although we were bred to fight."
"I reach for kindness in your heart tonight, and if you can forgive." Rex softly approached the Resting Dvalin with a small smile on his face while he sang, his hair's glow brightening. "And if you can forgive, love can truly live."
"And if you can forgive, and if you can forgive, love can truly live." With a smile, Dvalin leaned in with his head and allowed Rex to hold his head. "And if you can forgive, and if you can forgive." Rex smiled brightly as his blindfold disappeared, his voice getting softer and weaker to reveal his eyes were both closed and leaking blood.
"Love, love will truly live." Singing the last part with heartfelt emotion, Rex smiled as he let the sweet embrace of darkness take him, only hearing the panicked cries of Dvalin before it all stopped.

Theresa panicked as she held Judah and held her ground at the Tornado that destroyed her nephew's room. It had damaged the dorm but she was not worried about the building but rather, for her nephew. It has been an hour but it was still going strong and no one has seen any notice of Rex yet.
"Principal!" Himeko shouted. "Look!" A figure shot out of the tornado and into the forest near the dorm.
The second she turned enough was enough for the tornado to disappear revealing the destroyed bare spartan room of her nephew and her heart broke at the sight. Kids like him should have more items in their rooms but.
"Principal Theresa. The drones have seen a landmass had formed nearby." Bronya said as she showed her the map. Taking the map, Theresa carried the Oath of Judah and with both Himeko and Fu Hua by her side with countless valkyries behind her, they arrived at a boulder with a crack.
"Everyone! Prepare for!"
The boulder opened up like a lotus flower, revealing the large number of amber crystals lining the walls of the lotus 'petals', revealing a heavily injured Rex with bleeding eyes, a soft yet sincere smile on his face as a small creature with six wings the size of a cat was curled on top of his chest, in contrast of his heavily injured form.
