章 36: The Final Phase

Something was following him.

He heard footsteps.

He heard someone else call his name.

But nothing mattered.

"...Azuma."

Her breathy voice was now very close.

Azuma suddenly stopped.

He faltered a step back, a gnawing sensation clutched inside him. It was as if everything was sinking all at once, and he was afraid this suffocation would drown him too soon.

"No..."

'What the hell is happening?'

"You are not meant to be here."

A sudden silence washed over everything. 

The shuddering sensation disappeared as if it was just a dream. He wasn't feeling even a shadow of abnormality inside. 

And he couldn't hear Shiro anymore.

Or the hisses that didn't belong to any animal…or human.

Azuma glanced at the person behind him, it was one of the wardens who looked very annoyed.

"Are you deaf?" he scoffed, "I have called you a million times."

"No need."
