章 56: Emotion

Leon unlocked the door to his house and stepped inside. Rody followed him in and collapsed on the leather recliner. He threw his head back against the headrest and took several deep breaths. Leon sat down on the couch next to him and scratched the back of his head.

"That was close huh?" he asked sheepishly.

"Yeah," Rody panted, "Too close. There were coming at me from both sides. I thought that was it for me."

"How did you even get yourself in that situation? What was your plan there?"

"I didn't have one." Rody said and sat up straight. "I was supposed to draw away a few Erratics and let Joseph take care of the rest. But for some reason, all of them ignored him and came after me. And because of my fucked up luck, a new group of Erratics popped up in front of B block and cut me off."

"Where did they come from?" Leon asked.

"No idea. I'm guessing these ones were guarding one of the other mounds but I can't be sure." Rody replied.
