I'm finally back.
It's been a few seconds since I was gone. Time was stopped while I was gone. My return caused a slight fluctuation in this world's space-time continuum. Hermes probably felt the fluctuation. I can say I was experimenting with teleportation magic.
Can't actually teleport, yet, but I can make a dimensional rift and move things through it. Not like the portals in Stargate. Mine are simply a tear in space. No colour, nor any Doctor Who shenanigans.
Open rift, walk in, close rift. Open rift, walk out, close rift. That's the rough idea, need proper testing before I step through myself.
Not a complete portal, the added benefit is that the exit rift can be wherever I want it to be, and nobody can predict and plan for my exit by sight alone. Portals work by tunneling through space or space-time and allowing matter to pass through. The problem is, it's like a door. Both portals are made simultaneously.
A rift is different.
As long as I have access to a dimension, or even a portion, of a dimension, I can rift around all I want.
The dimension in question, Tenkai. Remember when I said Ishtar had been sent back to heaven? Well that is not quite all the details.
"Do unto other as you would have others do unto you"
The gods I sent back to Tenkai, especially after Ishtar, I have more than enough of their blood. Hermes only needs a few drops to dismantle their divinity.
They get to keep their divinity as long as they supply Hermes with whatever he wants. I'm not stupid enough to try and force a geass on a fully 'divine' being. I let Hermes do it. He looks the villain in godly circles, which keeps a vast majority of the other cunts in line.
For recommending the idea, I get to use a part of Hermes' Teankai garden as I see fit. I was originally going to grow rare plants required in potioneering and alchemy, still the plan. But I can also use it as the secondary dimension for my rifts. Well at least the gazebo by the pond. Don't want to interrupt the workers in the garden. We need those herbs.
Potions made from herbs and potion ingredients grown in Tenkai sell for exorbitant amounts. Just a 10% diluted solution would sell for 100-300 million valis. With potency much higher than the potions made with the best ingredients found on Genkai. The only comparable would be 300% concentration potions that potioneers make for long distance transport.
That's a long term plan. Right now, I want to clean up and rest.
I'll sort out the rewards and my hodge-podge rift magic tomorrow.

'I woke up quick, at about noon, just knew that I had to be in Compton soon.' Eazy E, Boyz-n-the-hood.
I got up, took care of the morning ablutions, fed Cypher, and made my way over to Rudy's Café. He got a new sign. I didn't bother to read the old sign or ask. I get good food here. That's all that matters. I can cook for myself, but why should I? I have the money and can acquire more whenever I wish.
Brunch now, then go around town and see what's going on.

The thing with time dilation is that's it's very disorienting. I mean I spent 5, close to 6 years on a different fucking world! And there is no change here. People walk around like the biggest thing to happen in the last few days is the forced evacuation Daedalus street and the surrounding slums.
The arrests made from the rats who tried to make a run for it, painted the Guild and Ganesha familia in a very good light.
Loki familia lost some low level adventurers, while exploring the remade Knossos. A cave-in. Well, that's no longer my problem. An exploration familia that doesn't take precautions like bracing the the clearly artificial tunnels, has it coming. Like take a dwarf with you. It's not hard, but nope, send in the level 1 explorers.
Personally I think some of the vermin escaped my purge. I'll handle them eventually. They are getting smarter however. Let's see you outsmart a .50 cal, cunt.
That's all that happened.
The cunts on my shit list are dead or laying low. The town is relatively peaceful. For now. I just know some fuck is going to start shit, and I'll somehow get involved in stopping it.
For now I want to see my rewards, re-evaluate my drones and go over my haul of stolen machinery from the other world.
*****Narrator POV*****
War is hell.
I changes you forever. Just witnessing it is enough for some, whereas the nine members of the chat-group lived it, albeit one-sided, for five close to six years.
The aura of a man who has seen war is completely different from an adventurer.
The mission in Zorya was just a recon op, but the effects were noticeable for all those who took part and their friends and family.
Now, Cassius sent an aura of a man of war. A man who has seen a glimpse of hell and stayed sane. He didn't notice it, but passersby certainly did. People were wary around him. Other adventurers' instincts would tell them to keep their distance. Higher level adventurers were puzzled as to what he'd done to get that level of a warriors aura.
It wasn't an aura of a batshit crazy murderer. Yes the scent of blood hung around him like a cloak. Alongside there was an aura duty, sacrifice and pain. An aura of respect earned, honour upheld, justice delivered.
A man forged in battle.
Even if Cassius didn't consider it a war, it certainly was. A war of survival for the residents of that world. The nine were bestowed with the title of [Saviour]. Most of them knew that already, Cassisus has yet to check his rewards.
