After making something fast with whatever I could find in the kitchen, I set up a small table in the living room, lighting a few candles to create a romantic ambience, it was simple, but what mattered was the little gesture and spending time together.
Just as with Claire, Chris and I barely had a moment alone during the week, this was the perfect time to catch up. When Chris arrived, he looked pleasantly surprised.
"What's all this?" he asked, a smile spreading across his face.
"Just thought we could have a nice dinner together," I said, pulling him into a hug.
We sat down to eat, enjoying the food and each other's company. As we talked, the conversation naturally turned to my mom's mysterious behaviour.
"She's been acting a bit odd lately," I told Chris, recounting the evening's brief encounter with my mom. "There have been a few times when she's come home late without much of an explanation."
Some news! I am going for that contest with my new book, it's already drafted and uploaded over here, with over 12 chapters written (still in drafts tho!), and it's gonna be called "The Sugar Daddy Proposition" (I know, it doesn't sound much like this one), it's a little experimental. The contest requires 50.000 words before December so that means focusing on that one for a while.
It will probably be published when this one goes out, all the support is appreciated. <3
I'm not going to stop updating this one, but the chapters might be more spaced out than now, sorry about that... I hope you might enjoy the other one in the meantime!
