"That's ridiculous, Virly," Jade said with a bitter laugh. He couldn't change just to prove or show his friends. And turning into a wolf wasn't fun, but painful.

"Why ridiculous? I thought it sounded fun to turn into a wolf."

Jade shook his head. "It hurts, Vir. My bones feel like they're breaking and it hurts. I could even cry the first time I changed."

Virly showed a face that shuddered in horror. Then he started smiling shyly at Jade. "Sorry... just forget what I said earlier. I really didn't know it would hurt that much."

"You should try to understand, Vir. Even when Hans proved it to you he was in excruciating pain."

Jade immediately left him to head to the table where a new visitor had entered. He was saved a little by the presence of these visitors. And Virly was still daydreaming about Jade's words.
