"Do you like being a grim reaper?" 

"I don't know. According to my memories, I've never had a life before I was a grim reaper so I can't really say that I miss living. In fact, most grim reapers eventually get mentally drained and just decide to quit and loiter around. For such people, it doesn't matter if they ever get to finish their book or not.  All they want to do is postpone the inescapable."

"What do you mean? 

"It means they want to keep being a grim reaper." 

"Huh? You mean there is a choice for you to quit this job?" 

"No. I've already told you this. It wasn't our choice to join this work and it would not be our choice to leave it either." 

"So why did you say it like that?" 

Zaelek sighed as he heard this question, "I can't tell you everything but let me tell you this, every grim reaper has a goal and the goal is to complete his or her book. Once the goal is completed, the curse is lifted."
