章 87: Levelling up
Three hours went on and the seventeen people residing in the shabby mansion felt that they should move away because it was not safe. The ten people of the Frey clan and the new couple who just joined them.
Lin Cian and William woke up but were too lazy to get to their feet because of the later effects of the anesthetic spell. Somehow both of them managed to get onto their feet and helped each other to come out of the shabby house to the other members.
Both Lin Cian and William washed their faces till the effects of the anesthetic spell were gone; they heard the girls giggling at something. When they turned to look in the direction of the sound Lin Cian and William turned away immediately as they frowned; the girls were laughing at them because of the incident that happened some hours ago.
When Lin Cian took a step back he suddenly fell down on his knees and started to grunt in pain. William, who just got an idea of what Lin Cian was going through, immediately reached him and started to analyze what was wrong.
William could see that Lin Cian was trying to cover his eyes with both his hands and his eyelids were under great stress. His jaws were trying to hold in but the pain made him hang them loose and gasp for air despite the tension his jaws undergo. Not knowing what was going on, the girls who chuckled at Lin Cian and William froze on the spot when they heard his moan.
William could do nothing but watch but he signaled the girls to bring June over; the girls ran to June to let her know about Lin Cian. June rushed to Lin Cian once she heard about his condition; not just her but everyone inside the shabby mansion.
Lin Cian's eyes were under huge pressure and anyone could see the red veins popping out of the white area of the eyes and hot drops of tears fell to the ground. Feeling an immense pain in his eyes, especially in his pupils, Lin Cian tried his best not to scream.
He felt as if his pupils were slit open in half; his pupils formed the third ring in purple around the pupil and a purple line across the pupil vertically in its center. In a few moments, the purple line in the center started to tear open his pupils and the pain started to increase.
It was when June and Wei Li reminded him that this was some kind of a tribulation that will help to hone his skill and asked him to focus on his mental sphere. Realizing the situation Lin Cian crossed his legs and concentrated despite his struggle.
After a few minutes of continuous struggle and concentration, Lin Cian's body relaxed and he opened his eyes only to see everyone staring at him.
As soon as he realized Lin Cian took a deep breath and focused his mental energy on his eyes.
A bright purple-colored ring formed around the silvery blue pupils and the brightness of his silvery blue dulled and become darker to form a very dark blue.
Another bright purple line appeared vertically on the center of his pupils. It expanded and formed the shape of an eye but vertically with a dark black color.
Seeing them amused, Lin Cian smiled and closed his eyes, and normalized himself; his grin extended to its extreme and his eyes lit up in excitement.
Kuo Jian snickered seeing others confused at Lin Cian reaching new heights because the demon's eye was limited to the Lin family.
Lin Cian had no idea why he leveled up out of the blue because he understood there was no improvement in his realm since the last year when he had fought with Wei Li to enter the earth realm but couldn't enter the black realm. He was in the earth realm but his body was not upgraded and was not countable to be of the black realm.
It should have improved his senses and his physic when he was leveled up to the earth realm but it didn't; Lin Cian had no idea why he could not see any change in him but he failed to express his worries to others including William.
But for some unknown reason, his mental perception was getting stronger and stronger. As a result, his demon's eye was upgraded to the second level; the gaze on the prey. The usual advantages like seeing the aura of a user were improved as the upgrade refined his vision in seeing the aura of another person more clearly than before.
Adding to it, now Lin Cian was able to see anything hidden within the range of fifty meters. So he was naturally a nemesis for assassins who hide and ambush their target.
To Kuo Juan's knowledge, only his mother was able to use this skill. In other words, Including Kuo Jian, no one in the Lin household is aware that Lin Cian learned the skill demon's eye. Not many people in the Lin family know such a skill exists but Kuo Jian identified the skill belonging to the Lin family because he was sure that no one other than his parents will be happy to give the skill to such a loser like Lin Cian.
It was true that no one will be willing to teach Lin Cian; it was not that Kuo Jian still see him as a failure. According to him, there are some skills thought to Lin Cian by his parents that made him strong enough to join a hunting party; from there he sharpened his skills.
Lin Cian saw through his thoughts but pretended not to see it and when he see the faces of the others who were looking at him as if they had a question; Lin Cian's face lit up in glee.
"I leveled up!" Lin Cian exclaimed as his thirty-two teeth were exposed to anyone who looked at him. The others looked at each other confused but once they heard the word 'level up' they immediately understood why Lin Cian's face was bright as the sun; they began to cheer him up for his achievement.
They started to wish him and they cheered him up. Kuo Jian who knew what it was just stood there without any amusement as he knew what the skill was. He had no idea of what was going on inside him but he was not happy as others; in other words, he was not happy with Lin Cian's new achievement.
After a while of cheering up, everyone started to move in the direction of the seventh province; to the Sky Fall Pavilion. When they were traveling they followed a strategic pattern where Darius, Kuo Jian, and Dalia would be walking in the front; next to the group of youth from the Frey clan who accompanied them; June and Harry in the middle; followed by Lin Cian and William; finally Ayla and Wei Li at the rear.
Each team walked at a distance of five meters between them as it changed based on the terrains. If it was a dangerous terrain the distance will be reduced to a meter or less; if it was a plain terrain the distance will be increased up to ten meters.
After a few weeks of traveling Lin Cian and the others finally reached the Blue Moon and they reported the completion of their mission; the team split up into two where Lin Cian; along with Harry, June, and the ten youth members of the Frey family set out to the Sky Fall Pavillion.
While Aveda, Wei Li, Darius, Aveda, Kuo Jian, and Dalia set out for a trip to the Stargazing academy to escort the couple. If it was not Lin Cian's duty to accompany June and her clan members to the Sky Fall pavilion he would definitely have gone to the Stargazing academy to meet his sister.
Since he has something important to do; he should have to do it no matter what. But he promised Kuo Jian to come to the Stargazing academy; once his work was done in the Star Fall Pavillion.
After a few days of traveling from the Blue Moon the team that Lin Cian accompanied, reached the entrance of the Chai city where they heard some strange talks where they heard the Saarbe family was gathering to fight with the newfound organization the Skyfall pavilion.
Hearing those words Lin Cian rushed together with June, Harry, and the other ten members of the Frey family to the Sky Fall Pavillion.
