章 28: The First Battle

After attending the auction conducted by the auction house Lin Cian decided to go to the blacksmith. Once again he decided to slow his pace by walking and also cultivating when he sees fit.

On his way to the blacksmith, suddenly the path in front of him was covered in smoke. It was grey and Lin Cian understood the situation so he used his 'demon's gaze' to get a grasp of his situation. He could see some aura around him and probably it was a bunch of mortal-level flocks trying to mess with him. When the men saw Lin Cian someone in the group said

"Looks like we have encountered a golden egg-laying hen" once he finished the sentence the group began to laugh. They began to mock him when they saw that his body is weak. But out of there, Lin Cian remembered that he could hear a familiar voice. But he couldn't remember who the voice belongs to. After a short while, he remembered and understood everything.

These people were the people who came to the auction. They saw a young lad spending too many gold coins as it was flowing downstream so they came to see how much they can get from him. In short, they want to rob Lin Cian.

After the smoke disappeared the men were shocked to see Lin Cian in the same place where he was and he was standing still. Those men got dumbfounded because now they have seen someone who could resist anesthetics.

"Looks like your tricks got no effect on me" Lin Cian mocked them with a small laugh and his own words. After all Lin Cian is not only an expert in medicine but also poison and antidotes.

But using poison in a fight is not considered fair so he hid his skill for self-defense.

Suddenly someone in the group started to attack him with a hammer. He was at least 2meters in height. He had a heavy build. His head is bald but a line of hair ran in the middle of his head looks like several spikes arranged one behind the other. His hair is orange-brown including his eyebrows.

When he attacked using his millet. Lin Cian smiled. He put his body weight in his hind leg and dragged the toe of the foreleg behind until it reaches the same level as the heel of the hind leg. Then he focused some minute soul energy to the toe of his dragged foot. Suddenly Lin Cian's body sprang back and countless after images were seen before he could successfully land behind two meters due to the energy applied to his foreleg.

The man who attacked Lin Cian was stupefied. He never thought a sudden attack of his would-be easily dodged by a kid. He couldn't sense any energy fluctuation during his dodge because after practicing the 'Heart of Separation' Lin Cian could precisely control his energy so no one can sense it until he wants to.

The technique Lin Cian used was his first self-made skill which is called dodge. It is just dodging but he used a little amount of soul energy to make the process quicker.

Then countless attacks were launched at him. He dodged each and every attack with minute precision.

He used his sense of presence to detect the location of the enemy and the variant of the sense of presence 'Seventh sense' is used to predict the moves of the attackers. Every time an attack is launched over him he would dodge backward or to the sides. Lin Cian didn't attack them for quite a while. After a few minutes when Lin Cian confirmed that the attackers are becoming slow he started his attack.

He didn't use his dagger because that may give out his identity. He didn't have any great spells. But he had learned the basics of creating the elements. They are the basic spells that are lower than grade 1 spells. But the attackers are almost worn out now so he can use those spells at ease now.

Lin Cian used the reverse method of his self-created skill 'dodge' which is 'pounce'. It can be counted as an offensive moment because it is launched towards the enemy.

He pounced towards one of the attackers several afterimages appeared behind him which confused and also surprised the others because in his right hand a ball of suppressed wind is present. When he neared his target he pressed the ball towards him and made the wind ball explode. This made the target fly over a few meters and fell down. The fact that surprised others were he haven't chanted a spell.

They were stupified. They haven't seen anyone this strong. Some of the members of the group started to tremble. Lin Cian made his next move. He extended both his arms to his sides immediately two balls formed in both hands. The others are more surprised because, on one hand, he had a ball of wind on the other hand he had a ball of flame. Lin Cian slightly lowered his head and smiled and asked in a cold tone.

"Does anyone have a last wish" as he said those words both the balls in his hands started to expand and emit more energy. By seeing this all the attackers panicked and ran for their lives. In their eyes, they mistook him as a phantom. They were really scared they throw their weapons towards him because they thought it may slow his pace of marching towards them so they could escape from death.

After a few minutes after everyone was gone. Lin Cian looked at the way they ran. He was panting.

"Looks like I need to train with spells. They are indeed mortals. If it were an earth-level master, I would have done for. Luckily they believed me to be someone stronger"

Lin Cian Deliberately shows the flame and wind ball to cause panic in the crowd. After all, he is still on a mortal level. If they were still present Lin Cian would lose the ground.

He balanced himself with the nearby tree and sat near the bottom of the tree.

"Nearly all my soul energy was consumed" because even though the spells work by the spirit the soul energy is responsible for the intensity of the spell. The stronger the soul energy is stronger the spell is.

After a while of resting Lin Cian decided to move on. He carefully moved because of the bitter experience he had a little while ago. He used 'Sense of presence' to investigate the surroundings.

After a few hours of travel, he reached the blacksmith in Chai city where his dagger is custom made. But this time he was shocked when he entered the blacksmith shop.
