Leading the way to the fourth floor of the school building, Alex moved in silence, slowly memorizing information he needed from his new memories, Ken just followed closely behind him.
They soon arrived in front of one of the doors with the words ' Administration office' boldly printed on a template attached to the door.
Alex stepped aside and motioned to Ken to go in.
His father had told him earlier before they left home to bring Ken to this office to complete some official paperwork.
Ken gulped as he knocked on the door with slightly trembling hands, he was dead nervous.
"Come in" a very aged voice lazily sounded from the room behind the door.
Ken gulped again and looked at Alex who was resting his back against the wall on the other side of the corridor with eyes closed and arms folded in front of his chest.
Ken really wished that Alex would go in instead of himself because Alex seemed so carefree to him.
Crack....clank!
Ken opened the door slowly, stepped in, and gently closed it back.
He looked around the office and marveled at how big the size of the office was, the size alone was more than their own living room back home, but not as big as the living room he saw at Alex's house though.
A big office table at the end of the room with an office rolling chair behind it, the chair was backing him so he wasn't able to see who was sitting on it, but Ken was sure that the voice earlier belonged to whoever it was that was sitting on the chair.
There was a big glass window at the side which the chair was facing which brightened up the entire room and also allowed one to see the view outside.
On the table were different types of books arranged neatly, some files were piled up on the other part of the table while a computer was placed in the center of the table, there was also a photo frame on it, unfortunately, Ken wasn't able to see who's picture it was because it's backside was facing his direction.
The wall was painted plain white with no extra decorations on it, a huge wall clock hung up on it, ticking slowly, to the side of the office were two big shelves with lots of books and files, and finally, two seats in front of the table and a couch on the side.
"Come, take a seat" the same aged voice came from behind the chair, still facing the glass window, probably enjoying the view displayed outside it.
Ken hurriedly sat down after the voice words fell, he felt he was being compared to following orders, the voice made him feel he didn't want to resist the command.
After Ken settled down, the chair that seemed to be firmly fixed to just face the window and not move even if the heavens fell finally spurned around, revealing a very old man, he sat lazily on the chair and stared at Ken with his huge glasses.
His hair was all overly White already, his face filled with wrinkles and he seems to be on the brink of death, just a few steps away from stepping into the journey of reincarnation.
"You must be Ken, right?" Slowly sitting up and adjusting his glasses.
Ken nodded in response, his throat felt too dry to produce any sound.
The old man looked at Ken for a while before rummaging through the files on the table, he soon drew one out, it looked like he finally found what he was looking for.
He handed the file over to Ken, and within it were some already printed papers.
"These are your admission clearance form, library and cafeteria permits, there are also files with information about your class and dorm, including other things you might need in the school" the almost dead old man said while handing out the file over to Ken.
Ken received the file with both hands, he rose and bowed deeply to the almost-dead old man, he already turned and was about to leave when he was called back.
"Hold on, the first floor is quite empty as the school has no specific activity being held down there, the second floor is where you can find the cafeteria and kitchen, the third floor is where the classes are held, the fourth floor is the different office of school staffs and teachers, the fifth floor is your dorms and are divided into two, the male and female dorm, at the sixth floor you can find the dean's and vice dean's office, as well as the school library, the seventh floor is the school supplies port, if you ever want to buy anything, the eighth floor is the school's laboratory, as for the ninth and tenth floors...
They are restricted areas and students are not allowed into them, be it junior or senior students, it's completely restricted, and a piece of advice, don't mess with senior students or teachers if you want to have a good life in the college, of course, you can always report to the disciplinary staffs if you are trouble, but so so in case of Juniors though, you can leave now" he finally disperses Ken after a long while of ranting some rules and introductions of the floors.
Ken was confused about why he added only for Juniors though at the end of his speech, he was also curious about the ninth and tenth floors that seemed to be restricted areas, was the school hiding something that they couldn't disclose to even the students?
Or was it some kind of secret room where some otherworldly creature or some kind of high-level device was kept?
Why does this sound very much like the plots in some novels that he read back at home?
Another thing that made Ken's mind nearly go blank was that the entire second floor was only for the cafeteria and kitchen, well predicting the number of people in the school, and using an entire floor as a cafeteria wasn't really that unreasonable.
And it also seems that both the seniors and junior classes were all on the same floor, the same goes for the dorm, did the teachers also share the same dorm with the students? probably, since there wasn't a different floor for the teacher's dorm unless they were planning on sleeping in their office.
