章 17: The fishman special
A quick stop in to check out the eggs and I'm out the door, ready for what today brings!!
And as I'm walking down the path from the castle to the town, I look over the poorly constructed city, and with all this knowledge I have, if I had some sort of obsessive-compulsive disorder I'm pretty sure I'd have a meltdown, but again I don't plan on sticking around forever and that gives me some peace of mind.
I mean look at where the shops...you know what…..not today, today is a good day and I need the right attitude to face it, so I keep waking, and stop in at the blacksmith to pick up a little something I had him whip up for me... looks good...
So after, I picked up the special little package I head straight toward the east of town, out the gates and straight down the animal track, that is the eastern road, I picked up the pace a little out of excitement, and jogged as fast as my little stubby legs could carry me
It's only an hour before I come across bob and what looks to be a crew of 5 others and some Pokémon, machop, and machoke mostly with a hariyama mixed into the group just sorta sitting at the end of the road, mind you it's only 7 and the sun rises at around 6….I really should be using a carriage or something I'm so tired of walking...
Bob manages to spot me and waves me over
Bob " good morning young lord, beautiful morning isn't it?"
Gideon " yeah morning bob, a nice day to get some shit done for sure, I already have a spot picked out, follow me"
So bob calls his crew as I lead them down to the beach and after around an hour of brisk power walking south there is a slight rocky incline, as we walk up and get to the top, we see a large meadow around 10km square with a small lake or large pond in the middle which is a bit over 1km-ish wide
Bob " *whistles* nice little spot you got picked out, decent area, worst Pokémon you would find in a field like this would be some wild rapidash, and it's not too far from town, the problem is we're gonna have to make a path to get the materials here, it will tack an extra 4-5 days on"
Gideon" yeah no issues with that, really from what I remember from a map my pops showed me awhile back, just cut north a few kilometers through the woods right there "I point to a certain area. " and it will take you straight back to the path we used to get to the beach"
And I roughly outline where I want everything built, which takes about an hour, it's gonna be built right next to the lake for my fish to have some space to swim around, but I'm sure once he evolves he would have to stay in his ball, but I'll figure it out later.
I walk back to the beach and let out magikarp in the shallow water as well as azumarill
Gideon " hey buddy how ya feeling!"
He wiggles with excitement and gives off happy vibes, azumarill looks at me for a second and sits down in the sand, and just waits.
Gideon " alright bud time for a little exercise before we really get into the meat and potatoes of my training regimen, Pokémon get stronger by beating other Pokémon, and from what I now know, you take a little energy from the defeated dude, the other pokemons energy recovers pretty quick so they don't actually lose anything so, yeah that's how it goes"
He just gives me a full-body nod, still with the happy vibes
Gideon " for some reason people don't seem to know that strenuous exercise can play a big part in it as well, it's crazy to me, people just kinda practice attack moves and then run into battle, no warm-up or anything…."
Fish shouldn't be able to shrug with a lack of shoulders but he managed to pull one off
Gideon " so I'm going to tie a couple of rocks to you and you are going to swim to the cliff over there and back nonstop as hard and fast as you can... and when you're ready to give up, you gotta keep going buddy, that's when the training actually starts, as I said buddy….it's gonna be hard training, I'm pretty sure those cheques are coming one day and we gotta be ready"
Determination is all I'm getting from him, so I tie around 10 kilos of rocks to his back, and send him to work, not too fast, not too slow he's just moving as fast as he can…..
Gideon " azumarill, you're here to watch my back and pull magikarp out if he's in any trouble ok? Just keep an eye out"
Azumarill just nods and sits in the sand, probably enjoying it as it's stuck with pops a lot of the time in the castle, no place for a Pokémon like that if you ask me but whatever
Been sitting in the sand for 20 minutes watching my fish swim back and forth, you would think he would get slower as he gets tired, but he's speeding up, like... really fast….. I half suspect he's lost the rocks, but after a quick check I can see him performing I guess an aquatic version of panting, getting as much water? in his lungs as he can.
Well, he continued for another 30 minutes and was taking a while on his return trip, so I sent azumarill to find and help him out, hopefully, nothing too bad happened, and it returns 3 minutes later with an exhausted fish with rocks on his back
Nearly dead to the world, the little fella probably pushed himself to his absolute limit, which is what I wanted but I didn't like seeing him like this. but then a thought occurred to me?
'Aura heals right?' With that thought I went up to him, not knowing a proper way to do it, I just touched his side with both hands and thought healing thoughts while I pushed my aura into him
And holy fuck it worked, instantly back to full energy ready for round two, so I put him back into the water when he started wiggling
Gideon " you good buddy?"
He tried to look at the rocks on his back and I thought it might be too heavy for him and went to remove them but he wiggled me off.
Gideon " what's the matter chief? Not too heavy? Then is it to light?"
Yeah, according to his wiggle, to light, that's kinda weird….. he was struggling with it about an hour ago, and I just think my fish is a beast for a second before an oh shit moment hit me….
Gideon" oh shit the 30x growth speed!? Is that how it works?!"
So I tie another 10 kilos of rocks on his back and send him on his way, for another 20 minutes, he just seems to get faster and faster again….
So an hour later I have to send out azumarill to pick up him and bring him back, and again almost dead to the world….
Gideon" well buddy that will do for exercise, time for some battling aye? I know land battling isn't your thing but I found a way around that so don't you worry your pretty little head"
I say with a big grin
'I gotta figure out how that 30x growth speed works though, that rate of improvement is just ridiculous, he basically doubled his training weight and tripled his fastest speed in 2 hours….."
Well, I'll figure it out later time for the to introduce these woods to the Fishman special…..
