Nefretiri
I didn't want to wake up.
Was that bad? It was, but I didn't want to leave my mom. I already missed her scent, the warmth of her embrace, and the way she spoke and called me baby girl. I felt the same love I saw Sierra give her children, and even though she gave me that same love, she wasn't my mother. There was a feeling of being safe that I didn't feel anymore.
Until I felt the warmth of someone's hands touch mine.
Ivan?
"Hey, beautiful," I heard his voice and tried to open my eyes. They felt heavy, like someone had their fingers on my eyelids.
I didn't know where I was, but the lights were dim, and the only sounds were from the machines around the room. Was it day or night? I couldn't tell. My brain was still addled by the anesthetic and whatever magic had sent me to my mother. I only know that my body feels weak, and there's the unmistakable pain sensation.
