"I think I cut them too small," I had Ivan chopping leaves for me, and now he was scowling at them like they owed him money. "Should I start again?"

"No, they're perfect." I grabbed them and threw them into the boiling pot. "You don't want large bits of that."

We were in Aurora's greenhouse, and there was something creepy about being here in the middle of the night. But, unfortunately, it was the only place I could do this. Aurora had planted so many different plants. She had everything I needed. Besides, crafting magic like this inside your house is never a good idea. So, we drove out here, and after I made sure it was safe for Ivan to come in, we got to work.

"It looks chunky," Ivan muses, staring at the pot I'd found. "Is it supposed to look like that?"
