Louise and Shirley slowly walked out. The engagement party was in total chaos like they wanted.
"I'm hungry..." Shirley whined.
"Me too. Let's go for a barbecue?" Louise said. The barbecue were quite nice with a little beer.
"Sure!" Shirley eagerly agreed.
They have done their part and it was like Merideth will be out of the country sooner. The mess in her family is quite big and she has to take advantage of this to get out from the prying eyes of her stepmother and half-sister. This night will be a long night for Merideth.
Thinking about her departure made the their moods downcast.
They went to a party but they haven't even eaten the food.
How tragic.
Shirley and Louise walked towards the entrance of the hotel when Louise saw a familiar face.
It was Stacy Chang. She was walking with businessmen and confidently answering their queries.
"Ms. Chang... Good evening!" A fat businessman greeted.
"Good evening Mr. He... I'm glad you have made it..." Stacy curtsied.
Louise stared at the woman with hatred. She knew that it was that woman who made her an orphan.
Stacy Chang felt that someone was staring at her.
She looked back but found nothing.
"Is there something wrong Ms. Chang?" Mr. He asked as he noticed her peculiarity.
"Nothing, let's go. Mr. Mo is already waiting for us..." Stacy shook her head and went straight ahead to the elevator.
Louise dragged Shirley to the corner.
"Who was that? Do you know her?" Shirley asked when she noticed the deep hatred in Louise's face.
"I do and I hate her." Louise gnashed her teeth.
Shirley made no comment on this. It was not her business until Louise will share something to her.
When the elevator closed, Louise walked out from the corner with Shirley. She stared at the elevator intently like she wanted to burn a hole in it.
"Let's go. I'm starving..." Louise began to walk towards the exit.
Shirley looked back at the elevator and had some thoughts but she didn't say anything to Louise.
She walked beside her silently while thinking how to ease her tension.
"So, how old is your boyfriend?" Shirley asked after some time.
"He's 25..." Louise honestly answered. Anyway, she trusted Shirley that she won't covet her man when she sees him.
"He's much older than you..." Shirley commented.
"Yeah. He's my life saviour. Without him, I might be long dead..." Louise said as she began to get lost in her own thoughts.
Shirley narrowed her eyes. She seemed to understand something.
"Is that so?" Shirley looked at Louise.
