Each of the Celestial has their own unique abilities, to which their duties and abilities relate.
For example, the Searcher, whose ability's search for lifeforms, looking for lifeforms with potential for improvement; the Collector, able to transform creatures into biological seed capsules as a way of collecting samples of every living thing on the planet; and the Exitar, able to destroy entire planets with ease.
And what of the Star Child? Erik doesn't know either; according to the Brotherhood of the Shield, he was born in the core of the Sun, spoke the language of arithmetic, and was proficient in basic mathematics at birth, followed a few years later by algebra, calculus, and then, after that, complex analysis, abstract algebra, real analysis, topology ...
Everything that has to do with numbers is his sustenance. According to this information, the Brotherhood of the Shield guessed that his unique ability would be in the direction of mathematics and planning.
"Great Celestial, why are you driven by Howard? You know that he is working on a very dangerous plan that could blow up the entire timeline at any moment!"
After all, it was a Celestial, and Erik very much did not want to fight him. Win or lose, the battle would do him no good; lose and Howard would get his way, win and be delayed, and maybe even face retribution from the Celestial.
"2060!" the Son of the Stars spat out a number, before making no more noise as his huge palm slapped viciously towards the crowd.
"2060? What the hell?" Eric and the others were baffled, but they had already started the fight, so fuck it!
Several people showed their skills and escaped from the attack of the Celestial.
Erik shot a ray at his head, which was the size of a house, but before it could get close enough, a beam of light came out of the Star Child's eyes and shone on it, turning the strange ray of powerful and weak forces into a harmless white light!
"Is this your unique ability? Planning?" Erik's face darkened, how could this fight? Good lord, planning his attack directly into white light, this was already bordering modifying reality!
So that's what planning means!
Tony's missiles and Barton's arrows hit the Star Child one after another, but they were equally unable to get close, turning into two rotting sticks when they were still a few meters away from him.
Looking at the sticks on the ground, Tchaka, who was about to pounce on them, stopped in his tracks and swallowed hard, wondering if his battle armour would be able to block such an ability?
"There's no way he can use this ability without restraint! I'll deal with him, you guys go get Howard." Eric clicked at his waist and took off with his feet tapping the ground.
"Eh, I think it's best to leave such a minor character to the boss, while we go deal with the more important big boss," Barton put away his bow and followed Eric's directions, running east.
"Barton's got a point! Let's go and find Howard as soon as we can!" Captain America nodded, put his shield back on his back and followed in Barton's footsteps.
"Erik he can handle this alone?" Tcharka looked at Eric, who was flying through the air, worried.
"Let's go, if he says so, it must be okay!" Blade, who had been silent, said with great certainty.
...
Eric's estimation was good, the celestial was still in his infancy, his energy was simply not enough to support his unrestrained use of his abilities.
After hundreds of rays, the Star Child clearly reduced the use of his abilities and Erik was able to circle him with his improvised anti-gravity device.
To the Celestial, Erik was too small, and with a slap, Erik could have passed through his fingers.
"+-*/!" With an uninformed roar, a burst of golden lightning abruptly lit up on the Celestial, countless lightning bolts burst out from him and turned into countless sharp arrows to shoot at Eric.
There was nowhere to hide from the rain of arrows, so Eric reached out and aimed his hand at the lightning, a ring on his hand glowed, a powerful magnetic field surged, the lightning was immediately pulled by the magnetic field, converging in front of him, turning into a ball of lightning several meters in size.
"No X-Gene, I still have my magic ring!" Erik sneered and smashed the ball of lightning at the Star Child.
The celestial was smashed squarely but was not harmed in the slightest, the huge amount of energy was once again absorbed by him, his eyes filled with rage.
"2060!" he shouted again, swinging his iron fist at Erik, his fist covered in golden lightning.
"2060? What the hell does that mean?" Eric frowned, pondering the meaning, but his hands were not idle, the magnetic field control ring being used to its fullest potential.
His own most powerful ability was magnetic field control, and now, despite being separated by a layer of the ring, he was still far more skilled and powerful at using it than the others.
The power of the magnetic field made him fearless of lightning, but the fist the size of a small house was not something he dared to take hard. He tried to control the metal on the Celestial, but found that it was blocked by an inexplicable layer of energy, so he had no choice but to give up and dodge quickly.
After all, the Celestial was still a baby, and apart from his clerical abilities, he had only a few means of attack.
After a few rounds, Eric became familiar with his routine, just be careful of that weird planning ability, the rest is not enough.
As he dodged, he pondered the meaning of the number "2060".
"The year 2060? The future Newton is heading for?" That was the first thing that came to Eric's mind, but what did it have to do with the Star Child? Did he want to go there too? To plan the world after the destruction of humanity?
"Wait, maths! 2060! Quiet Math!" With a flash of inspiration, Erik snapped to the answer.
The Quiet Math, a mathematical algorithm created by Newton and other super geniuses of the Brotherhood of the Shield, which they hoped would solve all the world's problems, had always yielded an answer of 2060, which foretold the destruction of humanity in 2060, and which had sparked the Brotherhood of the Shield's civil war.
"Howard showed the Quiet Math to the Star Child? He's crazy?" Eric was taken aback by his own speculation.
"Newton was right all along.2060, all things are dead!" The Star Child spoke the first full sentence since the battle, his eyes filled with rage and his massive energy almost condensed into substance.
"Hey! Stop! I know a man who has come from the 39th century, and the world will not end in 2060!"
Eric shouted, causing the Star Child to freeze on the spot, his head seemingly plunged into a macro machine as a vast amount of data flashed before his eyes, countless understandable and unintelligible formulas floating in front of him.
...
The group ran wildly, and it wasn't long before they saw a small, intact building standing amidst the ruins, with bright lights shining like a lighthouse in the darkness of the ruins.
"This should be it, let's go!" Tchaka greeted and was about to attack the building, but he had just taken two steps when the ground shook in front of him and a metal cage slowly rose up, inside which stood a strange man with four arms.
"Hi! Hello guys, I'm Bruce Banner, can someone tell me what this place is? And, why am I here?"
"Ohhhh, this is bad!" Banner, who had been in Eric's lab for over a year and whom Barton naturally knew, looked hastily at Banner's wrist and was immediately relieved to find that the vibranium bracelet was still there.
Unfortunately, before he could even catch his breath, a strange ray struck Banner's bracelet and it instantly shattered!
