Aaron felt the dawn of the summer shine rain down below him, as for a second, he felt the green heavenly grass underneath him, and in between his toes. He was bare feet, from his recent pair of shoes having been destroyed from the water that rained down from the sky, when he was on Earth. He was no in between his world and Earth. The portal back home had been opened for him, and for Edward the minuet the Raven man wasn't useful anymore. How much anger he'd felt towards the man, it was unreal. He felt a little better knowing Edward had been there, been there to stop him from commiting accidental murder. Murder was still murder. Since he hadn't been banished the first time, it was likely he'd be banished for sure, if he really did kill the man.
As Aaron had one foot on the sidewalk back on Earth in the alleyway, from before, his other foot was stepping through the blue portal. He could see the dawn, and the sun, and the grass. His world was heavenly. How he wished he could go through it, the fear was making him sick. And his thoughts causing that fear wasn't helping him either. He He was starting to feel awful, but the worry, was to great. His powers, mysteriously gone. Which mean't he was a cold one anymore. Which mean't, could mortals even be allowed to pass through the portal? Did the rule still apply even though he'd been a cold one before? HIs mother was there, his father too! Surely, he'd still be allowed to return home, even without powers? Right?
As he had his hands gripping the edge of the invisible force of the blue portal, he held his grip as tight as he could, until his fingers cramped. He knew he wasn't holding onto anything, for the portal was made mostly of magic, and magic couldn't always be touched, but it made him feel better, to pretend.
''Aaron, its okay. Just take your time.'' He heard Edward's soft voice, as he tried to comfort him. The prince looking at him, with his fiery orange eyes, who would've guessed he'd instantly felt better. Edward's pale white face, was hidden by the large sun, stuck out above his head, which Aaron could make out from the small top of the portal. If he looked up any further, he'd be able to see nothing but gray buildings, which were so high, the alleyway had just a great view.
From where he was standing he was surprised. But ignored the factor of the buildings, as he brought his attention back to the portal. The view inside it was that of a friendly one. It was his home world. Nation Valley? So why was he so afraid to enter? He'd never been afraid of the world he lived in before. If anything, his emotions then, should've been how he felt about entering into Earth. But surprising, he'd taken in the surroundings perfectly. So perfectly, not a sense of even a little fear on his face, the minuet he landed in that grass patch, surrounding with those purple, pink, and yellow flowers.
''Aaron? If it's Alec your worried about, I'll still help you find him. You don't need to stay there.''
''Damn it!'' Aaron shouted, biting his lip, and clenching down onto his bottom row of white teeth. Edward clearly wasn't understanding his pain. His worry, or his fear. He'd been hiding his emotions to well, Edward wasn't able to catch on. Aaron had kept a brave face for to long, when he really wanted someone to see the truth, they couldn't.
''I can't pass through! Not without my powers! Don't you see?'' Bowing his head, as he took a short pause. His bright blue eyes twitched and softened, as the cold breeze blew past him, running through the short strands of his white hair. ''I'm mortal, which means, mortals can't pass through the portal to Nation Valley! Making sure humans don't find out about is, is the whole reason we hid Nation Valley in the first place! Remember? Earth was never mean't to find out about our world, don't you see now!?''
Edward's eyes flinched as his face well. Aaron's words had finally been able to make him see. As the hurt spreaded around his entire body, making his flames activate, Edward was left at a loss. What Aaron was saying was the truth. The law, actually.
- No humans shall ever find out about Nation Valley.
-All memories belonging to those banished shall be destroyed, or wiped.
- All knowledge of their abilities shall be stripped, and they shall never be able to be retrained to use them.
As Edward was forced to go over every one of the rules he'd learned from his parents, his head suddenly hurt, and the side of his head throbbed. His flames seemed to have slowly gone out, and his eyes were pale, to match his face. The breathable air from his side, was starting to slip into the Earth's air. Resulted in the two airs mixing, to create a poison like substance. The breathable air on Earth, was much different from the one in Nation Valley. Aaron forced himself to shallow the tight knots he suddenly felt forming in the back of his throat, as he forced himself to look back at Edward. His weak state causing him pain, as he bowed his head.
''If your going to do it...do it quickly.....'' Edward mumbled, whispering with his weak toned voice. The cloak he was still wearing blew desperately in the small bit of cold wind, that slipped through into the portal from the Earth. Causing his body to be exposed, as dark markings rose along his bare skin. Mixing the air, always resulted in horrible consequences.
''Aaron.......please....''
''Damn it! No!'' He barked back. Before he could take another breath of air, he no longer felt the payment underneath him, as both his feet were now past the payment, as his entire body vanished through the portal. Before it could close, Aaron was quick. Collapsing to his knees almost immediately, and gasping, then just before he landed down onto his stomach, he felt suddenly weightless. The grunting and groaning of struggling Edward, as he held him, keeping him from falling, and wasting time. Aaron suddenly felt Edward's strong push against his ribs, as he was pushed back through.
The payment returning to his bottom, as he landed right down on his back. Gasping for his breath, in a few seconds he managed to find it, and have the air travel peacefully back into his lungs. His weak stare, found Edward. He was gasping for air just like he once was, and looked even more weaker, the more the air from Earth kept slipping through. Aaron knew he'd never be able to return home, so long as his powers were gone. He'd need to be some way to return them.....and as sad as it made him, he knew he'd have to do it alone. Edward had his hands clenching for the two strings pressed along the front of the cloak, as his knees squished and crushed the dirt underneath him.
''I can't go through, not as long as my powers are missing.'' Aaron said with a straight face. The information was there, the execution part, had started. ''I can't breathe the air, and neither can you, you've lost the time, Edward.....return to the castle, and come back when your offered more time. Tell your father, I'll be back.''
All Edward could do was nod using his eyes. His entire speech and movement was starting to fail him, from lack of oxygen. His trembling form was the last thing Aaron could see of Nation Valley before the portal was forced to close. His heart ached, as he was stuck in the alleyway alone....
Endless thoughts of his mother, finding out he hadn't returned, and the endless thought of the promise he'd been forced to break.....the same promise his father had made to her. At that moment, Aaron felt so much like his father, and as the minuets passed, he hated the feeling. He was his father in more ways than he first thought. However, there was one thing that made him him, and not his father. That was the hope and courage to return, vs just abandonment.
No way was he going to stay on Earth. He'd find a way back.....And just as he allowed himself sometime to focus on his next move, he couldn't stop himself from making out the small hums and mouth singing from some mysterious source. A devilish smile came to his straight face, as he turned and walked down the narrow alley.
Aaron was ready to pay a visit to the green eyed blind boy again.....
