章 18: Dungeon

Luke coldly glared at the cowering Venice, before showing a look of disdain, and looking to the side. His eyes flashed as he saw the portrait of the monster that gave all the major powerhouses from all the races a very annoying time.

Venice's eyes fell upon the portrait and then her heart dropped, as beads of sweat ran down her face.

'It's over! He'll definitely kill me here! Who did I offend, I was just carrying out my job?!' Venice screamed in her head as she frantically searched for a chance to escape.

"How did you kill my doppelganger?" Venice asked with dread visible on her face as she took a step back, and laid her back on the wall.

"It was easy, I just lifted my Sabre and swung." Luke said before taking a step forward and releasing a malicious aura, "Now, tell me where the <Gemini> are!"

<Royal Charm Successful>!

"They are with <The Dragon God> and are currently harboured in the <Darkcloak> empire. The <Gemini> and <The Dragon God> are now in a <Overlord Plane Dimension>" Venice blurts out instantly as if in a trance as her eyes turned completely black. These were the indications that the <Royal Charm>'s hidden aspect <Compelling Truth> had been successful.

(A/N: An Overlord Plane Dimension is another plane's dimensional realm ruled by another overlord dimensional creature. It can only be entered through a spatial vortex which only appears twice in a century, unless opened by a powerful legendary spell)

Luke frowned after hearing the information from the Fae assassin. The words of the Fae was less likely a lie due to the overpowered power of <Compelling Truth> which made her only speak the truth for the given question. Although it could only be used a day due to the world's restrictions, it was a very formidable ability against deceptive and stubborn enemies who are unwilling to tell the truth.

Based on what he had just heard, <The Dragon God> is probably related to the unprecedented appearance of the god-defying <Gemini>. The problems were that, as an elf, he couldn't just walk into the <Darkcloak> territory without starting a fight with those poorly informed humans.

Venice was still quaking with fear as she vigilantly watched Luke who surprisingly turned to leave. Her eyes widened as the terrifying presence dissappeared from sight, leaving the ghastly head of her doppelganger on a desk. Still shivering, Venice hesitantly picked up a golden crystal laying on a desk and crushed it in her palm before disappearing in a blink.

Luke didn't directly head back to the elven castle, but instead took a detour intending to enter a <Dungeon>. He strapped the sheathed <Dark Sabre> to his waist as he stealthily strode through the night, walking into a strange forest.

The entire forest was surprisingly cold and silent. The two metre tall trees had shining black leaves, while the grass and shrubs had a strange dark glow around them. Luke continued further into the forest popularly known as <Black Oaks>, spotting a few monsters on the way, but none where his match except from a <Howling Fang> which was instantly dealt with.

"It was supposed to be here somewhere, why can't I find it?" Luke muttered as he cut down a plant obstructing his path before immediately spotting a swirling blue light in the distance.

'Found it!'

Luke excitedly rushed towards the blue light, recklessly breaking his <Stealth> and alerting some monsters in the area. He tried to ignore them, but as he took a few steps forward he heard sounds around him.

Clang Clang Clang.

'It seems I couldn't avoid a little warmup this time.' Luke thought as he smirked slightly before looking around himself casually.

Ten <Iron Fur Wolves>.

The <Iron Fur Wolves> were a species of monsters that resided in the deepest parts of the <Black Oaks>. They were a very annoying monster due to their tough metallic fur which was nearly impossible to cut through with common weapon, and terrifying burst strength which could knock an unprepared enemy off guard, and put them in a awkward situation.

Luke vigilantly brandished his drawn out <Dark Sabre> before slipping into his battle stance, and looking straight at the biggest wolf of the pack. Luke snorts before effortlessly dashing towards the aggressive wolf who was viciously baring it's huge metallic fangs which were nearly capable of tearing anything apart.

The wolf alpha growled out an order for it's subordinates to stand down as it 'dealt' with the enemy, he turned to face Luke once more, and with an outraged bark he dashed forward. Luke sneered before accelerating, leaving afterimages as he ruthlessly swung down hard with all his might, cutting the <Iron Wolf Alpha> into two as blood splattered everywhere.

The other wolves all scattered about while running about aimlessly. Luke grinned excitedly as he leapt after them, ruthlessly chopping them down. After killing all the wolves and getting a total of [1800] more General Experience, Luke dashed towards the blue spinning portal.

[Do you want to enter dungeon?]

'Yes.'

After unhesitatingly selecting <Yes> a new series of screens flashed open before Luke who grinned in excitement.

Luke read the message, and no longer wasted unnecessary time. He steeled his heart before unhesitatingly stepping into the portal with a smile on his face.

'...I can finally get stronger!'
