Daniel, picked up his coffee cup, took a sip, before placing it down, and saying "I think you are trying to distract me."

"In part, but I want to you to understand Grandfather.  He knows that he has two strong challengers for the presidential election, and wants to blunt them, by creating family ties, and pressure them to drop out.  I have seen enough information to know, that he would at the first stage of voting place fourth, and we both know only the top two places go to the run-off election.  If he can do enough to get rid of both he will guarantee his place in the run-off election, and if he is there he will likely win, because with the uncertain times that it looks like we have ahead, people will vote for a known person, rather than an unknown on the national stage."

"Seriously?" came Daniel's shocked response.
