章 167: Issue #9
Jack spent another day in his office doing work for Frost International. Most of the students were not bad, they just had issues they were struggling to deal with. And since there were no recent attacks on the school, the number of students that had recent traumas that they needed to talk about was very small.
Jack finished even more work than he did before. And when work was finally over, he did not return to his room. Instead, Jack teleported to Okkara where Emma and Krakoa were waiting for him.
Jack nodded at each of them before teleporting all of them to the top of Mt. Olympus. They went from the middle of Eden to the temple at the peak of Olympus. Jack wanted to be sure that he had the most amount of privacy and protection that he could afford.
"Emma, Krakoa, Jack," Jack said to the others
"Jack," Jack replied to himself
Standing in front of Jack and the other was the other 'Jack'. The clone that Jack had created the morning before.
Jack sat next to the other Jack before both of them were restrained by Krakoa's vines and roots. This was the same practice they used every time they had the pair together to test them.
Once both were restrained, Emma walked up to them and placed a hand on each of their heads before using her powers to probe their minds. If either side showed resistance, Emma, Krakoa, and the other Jack were ready to kill them.
After Emma was done scanning their minds, she stood up and nodded to Krakoa. The first deity that Jack had converted nodded before releasing the pair. He then created seats for each of them to sit down in.
"So Emma? What do you think?" Jack 1 asked
"Are we good enough for you to trust us?" Jack 2 questioned
"Is this as weird as I think it is? And I used to eat people," Krakoa asked since everyone else got to ask a question
"You're both... fine but weird. Good enough to trust. Yes, it is. And you still eat people, Krakoa. Don't think that I don't know about Jack's little lab he has kept hidden away," Emma answered all of their questions before going into details about what was happening.
"As I thought the previous day, you both are different. Not so different that there is an issue but there is still a difference. And it has shown even more now that we have allowed you both some time apart. You both have very similar personalities with minor differences, mainly in regard to two things.
Jack 1, or the Jack that is staying, is more peaceful and indifferent. Or it would be better to say you are neutral. Jack 2, the one who is leaving, is more aggressive and passionate.
Most would try and cast you two into the alignments of good and evil but that just doesn't fit for either of you. Both of you are truly 'neutral' beings, just one is more orderly than the other."
"So lawful and chaotic," Lawful Jack tried to supply
"Yin and Yang," Yang Jack also put in his two cents
"Sure. So that is where we stand. A being of immense power has somehow been able to split themselves in two, keeping nearly all of their powers, without having to worry about betrayal from the other one. Truly a miracle," Krakoa commented, amazed by what had happened
And it was true. They had kept almost all of their powers. But both were also lacking one key power. Their very first power. For some reason, their X-Gene had become unstable. So although it was still there, they were unable to use their initial power and gain any new powers from killing other beings.
At first, both Jacks were worried. But when they remembered that it would only be for 6 months before they could use their power again, they calmed down. During this period of time, they could refine the use of the nay powers they had gained.
Over the next few hours, the group stayed together as they waited for the promised time. But they were not the only ones that were atop Olympus the entire time.
An hour before midnight, 5 more people had come. Illyana was the representative for the entire realm of Limbo since she was the ruler so she had to participate while Wanda was chosen as Chthon's champion.
It was only their astral bodies that would be leaving so their physical bodies needed to be left in a safe place. Thus, Jack had invited the both of them to Okkara where they would be safest. But even with his invitation, their families were not assured.
So besides them, both of the young women's brothers had come along to be their guardians. Colossus, the man of steel with a heart of gold, and Quicksilver had both come to make sure that nothing funny happened.
The last person to come was Magneto. Since he had helped create Eden along with Jack and Wanda, he was allowed to come as well. But he was like Emma and wouldn't be staying during the entire period.
Time seemed to pass slower and slower the closer it got to midnight. And when midnight came, it all happened at once. Without warning or signs, Yang/Chaos Jack, Wanda, and Illyana collapsed and fell to the ground.
Quicksilver was the fastest to react. He grabbed all 3 of the collapsed individuals before putting them on thrones around the room.
"Shit! What's going on?"
"What do you think, Pietro. It has begun. And all we can do is wait now," Jack said as he looked at his other half. "Krakoa."
The treant nodded before summoning more vines and roots into the room. The vines took the shape of a small table before they created amber-looking cases on top of them.
Krakoa used some other roots to place the 'sleeping' trio into their caskets where they would be provided with the nutrients they needed. Krakoa's caskets also provided them a form of protection as it was just as strong as his new body and could hide them from telepathic and magical means.
Once the trio was in their caskets, Jack, Magneto, and Emma left Okkara while Krakoa, Colossus, and Quicksilver remained.
