章 9: Issue #9
(You guys are getting a bonus chapter since I want to meet the word requirement to get ranked. Hopefully, this chapter fulfills it and I get 10,000. Or is it 15K? Whatever. You get the bonus chapter. And no tardigrade! Let's just say there are none in Marvel I did not know that there were so many badass animals. I watched liked 3 episodes of terraformers and a lot of beast boy from teen titans when I decided to include animals and not just have him going around killing heroes and villains.)
Jack spent the rest of the day in bed. Even though he had told Emma that he felt fine, she would not let him leave his bed unless it was to go to the bathroom. Jack was forced to stay in the bland bedroom with nothing but his phone that had no connection to wi-fi.
His only relief was Lilith. When the woman came and brought him his clothes, Jack was at least able to go through all the items she chose for him and get dressed. He was no longer stuck being naked under the blankets.
That was how Jack spent his first full day at the Academy. Getting flashed by Emma Frost, destroying his own arm, going to the hospital, then staying in bed for the rest of the day.
Before Jack went to sleep, Emma came by his room.
"Jack. I'm about to give you a large amount of information. I was planning to do this earlier but your little stunt threw off my plans. But since this will most likely exhaust your mind, it should be fine since I'm putting you to sleep."
"What information will you be giving me?" Jack asked more curious about the process than what was going to be implanted in his mind. He had already decided to put his trust in Emma.
'If telepaths like her can just upload and download information to their brain and the brains of others, that is super unfair. I need to find an animal that can use telepathy.'
Emma placed her hand on Jack's forehead and said "this" before her eyes began to glow white for a moment. Jack's mind blanked out before he felt a rush of information flooding into his mind.
Math lessons, science, French, German, Russian. Information on a bunch of high school classes and languages from all around the world came into Jack's mind and he instantly felt like an expert with all of them.
The overload of information caused the already tired Jack to fall back into bed and drift off to sleep. The last thing he remembered going through his mind was 'renarde'.
The next morning, Jack woke up at the same time as the day before. Instead of going toward Emma's room, Jack went to the kitchen and began cooking breakfast. At least his definition of breakfast.
When Emma appeared in the kitchen an hour later, she saw Jack sitting at the island with a pizza on one side and french toast on the other. As soon as she walked in, Jack saw her face go from tired to disgusted in less than a second.
"How can you eat that?" Emma asked incredulously
"You mean pizza for breakfast?"
"I mean pizza at all. It is nothing grease and fat stuck together in an abundance of dairy and burnt meat. It is utterly revolting."
Jack laughed at Emma's comment. The woman was so posh that she had an aversion to pizza.
'I wonder what else is beneath her?'
Jack finished his breakfast while Emma had some toast and coffee. After each of them was done, Emma called for Jack to follow her into her office. The pair sat across from each other at the desk before Emma explained what was about to happen.
"So I am very busy, Jack. And when the school term starts, I will get even busier. So we are going to have an hour-long psychic training session per day until school starts."
Jack listened patiently and waited for her to continue. After having a few conversations, Jack realized that she liked it when he interrupted her so she could reprimand him.
Seeing that he had no questions yet, Emma continued her explanation
"These training sessions will be very different than normal ones. You see, this is a perk of telepaths of my level. Only Charles Xavier and maybe one or two other telepaths can do something like this.
What I will do is start a training session in your mind but it will be similar to an illusion. In that illusion, I can control space, time, and pretty much all of reality, especially since you have no prior training against someone of my level.
To put it simply: I can give you about a month and a half of training with only a single hour. This is how we will have you catch up on all that you are lacking and in a private setting.
You will learn business, electronic engineering, software development, politics, ethics, psychic defense, power limitation, and nobility classes.
So over the next 28 days, you will experience 3 and a half years' worth of training. This process is very mentally draining so you will be exhausted for the rest of the day after we do this.
But first, we will make sure that you will be top of your classes in school. So we will go over all the information that I uploaded into your brain yesterday to ensure that you have it memorized."
And with that, the first teaching session had begun. Emma entered into Jack's mind where the pair saw each other in their astral forms as first. Then, Emma made them each appear like their normal selves and changed the pure black surroundings into a classroom. She even gave Jack his missing arm back so he would not get rusty due to being unable to use it for a few more weeks.
Jack sat behind one of the dozen student desks while Emma stood at the front with a blackboard behind her. She then spent the next month testing Jack over the entire syllabus from sophomore to senior year at the Massachusets Academy.
Emma had originally given Jack all this information the night before but Jack still had to process it. It was like knowing a recipe but still needing to practice in order to bake the pastry to perfection. It was only after he scored perfectly on every test did Emma end their first training session.
Surprisingly to both of them, over that first mental month and a half, the pair had grown much closer. It no longer became Emma needing someone to entrust and Jack barely putting his trust in her. The duo had truly formed a close teacher-student relationship based on mutual respect and trust.
