章 2: A night at the woods

Marc and Hannah are a couple driving to camp lockwood, they are asked if they can be the new camp counselors for the next 2 weeks.
"So… when do you think is the best time to start a family?"
Marc said to Hannah while driving.
" Hmm well let me think… How about… the next 2 years."
Hannah replied with a smile.
" what?! But that's so long."
" Oh come on Marc it's not that long."
" Fine.. Fine.. 2 years let's do it, Honey."
" Honey? Are you serious?"
" What? It sounds cute."
" No.. Don't call me that. "
"why?"
" it just…. don't sound like you.. It doesn't suit you at all."
" I'm just getting ready to be sweet when I become a father."
" Marc, you'll be a father in 2 years."
" Oh yeah, right."
" for now stop calling me names."
"Got it boss."
They then reach camp lockwood, Marc stopped the car and both proceed to take their luggage out of the trunk. A deer then suddenly comes out from the bush and starts looking at the couple.
" Hey Marc, look."
"Oh it's mother nature."
" Ahh dud,Why is it staring at us?"
Hannah said with a nervous tone.
" Maybe it's scared?"
Marc then started to approach the deer slowly.
"Marc? What are you doing?"
Hannah said while wondering what Marc was planning to do.
" Hey there little fella don't worry we won't hurt you."
As Marc approached the deer a large roar deep in the woods startled the deer and made it run away. Marc and Hannah were shocked by what they heard.
"Woah what was that?!"
Hannah said to Marc fearfully.
" Maybe it's a bear, I think we should get our stuff and go inside the cabin already."
" Yeah.. Yeah, I think we should do that."
The couple then gets their bags to the cabin. Meanwhile the deer from before got attacked by a humanoid creature killing it instantly.
6:00 PM
The couple cleaned the cabins and grabbed sticks for the campfire.
" Do you think this is enough?"
Marc said as he put down a lot of sticks that he found in the woods.
"Yeah, I think this should be enough for the night."
Hannah said as she lit the campfire.
" So… it's been 6 years since we started dating."
Marc said to Hannah with a smile.
" Yeah it has been a long time."
Marc then holds Hannah's hand and looks at her.
" thankyou for being part of my life, Iloveyou."
"Iloveyoutoo,Marc."
Hannah said as they started to kiss but the moment got interrupted when something just rattled from the bush behind them.
"What was that?"
Hannah said as she looked behind with a worried expression.
" uhm you should stay back hannah, I'll check it."
"Be careful."
Marc proceeds to walk towards the rattling bush slowly.
" hello? Who's there?"
As Marc approached the bush the deer from before jumped out of the bush startling marc.
" Jesus christ! "
" Marc? Are you okay?"
" Yeah it's just the deer from before."
"oh."
Hannah said with a brief relief.
" Hey there buddy.. How are you?"
Marc said to the deer as he smiled at it.

" Hello, Human."
The atmosphere became heavy for the couple as they heard the deer reply with a human voice.
"Ma..marc? Did that deer just speak?"
Hannah said as she looked horrified from what she heard.
" I.. I think so."
Marc said as he backed away from the deer slowly.
" I wonder.. From all of the humans that I devour… What is the feeling of eating someone who is deeply in love?"
The deer said as it slowly stood up like a human being.
" Hannah,run… Hannah, run!"
Marc said as he ran towards Hannah, Hannah was too terrified to move so Marc grabbed her arm and shouted at her to make her come to her senses. Both went to the cabin that they just cleaned and locked the door completely shut.
" Marc? What's happening?"
Hannah asks Marc with a terrified tone.
" I don't know, I don't even believe that this happened."
"Why did the deer talk and stand up like a person?"
" There's no way… there's no way that… aliens are real."
Marc said as he sat down, Hannah then looked at the window trying to find the deer.
" Marc, I think it's gone.'
" We can't be too sure it's too dangerous."
Hannah then checked her pockets trying to find her phone but realizing that she dropped it outside.
" Marc, my phone i...I dropped it."
Hannah said to Marc with a panic tone.
7:30 PM
It's been 1 and a half hours since they got into the cabin, Marc is looking at the window trying to see if the deer is still around while Hannah is sitting and terrified.
" I think it's safe."
Marc said as he got the flashlight and a flare gun.
" Marc, please be safe."
Hannah said with a worried look.
"I will."
Marc said as he opened the door and went outside to go look for the phone, Marc walked slowly as he opened the flashlight to go look for the phone. While Marc tries to look for the phone the atmosphere around him gets a little cold, he begins to sweat as he looks around the area trying to see if the deer is near him.
" There it is."
Marc said with a sigh of relief as he saw Hannah's phone near the campfire, He then went to the phone and picked it up, Marc then dialed 911 but got no signal. He then tried to message the camp manager if he was around but got no replies.
"Damn it."
Marc said with a frustrated tone.
"Come on, come on, come on."
As Marc was trying to dial 911 he heard a rustling from the bush.
"Who's there?!"
Marc said as he pointed the flare gun at it. Meanwhile Hannah is searching the cabin for supplies to help them, During the search she notices something smelly from the closet. She was curious about the smell so she slowly walked towards the closet and started to open it. As she opened it she was shocked from.what she saw.
" Show yourself!"
Marc shouted at the rustling bush nervously.
" Woah, Woah relax, relax."
The man from the rustling bush said as he saw Marc pointing a flare gun at him.
" Who are you? "
Marc said to the unknown person.
" My name is Alvarez, I'm the camp manager from Camp Lockwood. I saw the message from your phone earlier so I ran as fast as I could to help you guys out."
" Wait, so you saw my message?"
Marc said as he lowered his flare gun at alvarez.
" Yeah, I'm here to help."
Alvarez said with a smile on his face.
"Marc! There's a dead body in the closet. I think it's the manager!"
Hannah shouts to Marc, Marc then slowly looks at Alvarez as he hears that Hannah found the manager already.
" this should've been a lot easier."
Alvarez said with a different voice used than before.
"Marc! Run! "
Hannah said as she saw that the manager that she found earlier is with marc.
" Oh god."
Marc said as he saw Alvarez started to sprint towards him. Marc shot the flare gun at Alvarez hitting him in the eye making him whimper. Marc then runs towards the cabin where Hannah is hiding.
" We need to barricade the door now!"
Marc said with a panic expression, as they started to barricade the door Alvarez then started to get back on his feet and go for them.
" Come on humans, let me in!"
Alvarez said as he tried to break down the door.
"Marc, what should we do?! Oh my god!"
Hannah said as she started to tear up.
"We need to find another way."
Marc said as he began to look for an exit.
" You humans always taste the same but when the person is deeply in love we skinwalkers will do anything just to devour you."
As the skinwalker continues to break down the door, Marc finds a scuttle hole.
" Hannah, Hannah come here."
" What is it?"
" Look, you see that square shaped thing in the ceiling?"
"yeah?"
"It's an entrance to the attic. I'll lift you up and you'll open it and go there, get it?"
"Ba..but Marc how about?"
"I'll find another way, don't worry, I'll be fine."
"you promise?"
"Yeah, I promised."
As Marc promised Hannah he kissed her on her forehead and let her get into his shoulders to reach the cuttle hole.
"Did you get it?"
"Yeah, Yeah I opened it."
Hannah then opened the cuttle hole and started to climb in it.
" Be careful Marc, I love you."
"You too, I love you too, I'll be back."
Marc said as Hannah covered the cuttle hole.
" Let me in!"
The skinwalker said as it banged the door so hard that it destroyed it.
"Oh shit."
Marc whispered to himself as he hid behind the couch.
" Now, where are the two of you?"
The skinwalker said as it started to search for the couple, as Marc hid behind the couch he saw a broken mirror and picked it up.
" Let me tell you guys about us skinwalkers, when we devour something we get to be them by eating their larynx. I can mimic the sound of my victim and by eating their flesh I can look like my victim, very interesting isn't it?"
While the skinwalker started to talk its voice became more and more distorted, while the skinwalker passed marc, marc took the chance and stabbed the skinwalker with the broken glass in the neck destroying it's throat.
"Raghh!"
The skinwalker scream as it looks at marc with a murderous intent.
" Oh shit."
Marc then ran out of the cabin while being chased by the skinwalker.
"shit, shit."
Marc then opens the door at the manager's office and locks it from the inside.
The skinwalker angrier than before tried to destroy the locked door, marc then steps back and finds a pump action shotgun.
" A gun! A gun! Okay,okay, Marc, remember shooting practice you got this."
Marc said to himself as he grabbed the shotgun and loaded it with shelves.
"Raghhh!"
The skinwalker screams angrily as it breaks down the door.
"Grr!"
" Come at me."
As the both stared at each other, Marc shot the skinwalker blowing its right arm off. As the skinwalker whimpered Marc shot it again at the legs injuring it.
"Grahh!"
As the skinwalker screeched at Marc, Marc stepped a little closer to aim at its head and tried to kill it but realized that the gun was empty.
"Oh no."
The skinwalker then slashes at marc right on the organ making him bleed badly.
(marc spits out a lot of blood)
" *sigh* *sigh* don't worry Hannah, I'll end this."
Marc said as he grabbed a piece of glass making his hands bleed.
"Grahh!"
The skinwalker then gets back on its feet and jumps towards Marc, Marc then stabs it at the chest. The full moon then rises as a wolf howls at the gloaming night.

12:00 PM
Hannah is in the attic sobbing and hoping for Marc to return.
"Hannah!"
Hannah then heard Marc's voice and started to open the cuttle hole.
"Marc? Are you okay?"
"yeah i'm fine but i'm kinda injured badly."
Marc replied as he grunted from pain.
"I'm coming!, wait!."
Hannah then goes down and find Marc limping towards the cabin.
"Marc!"
Hannah then rushes towards Marc to hug him.
"Is it over?"
Hannah asks marc.
"Yeah it's over."
Marc replied while gasping.
"thank god."
Hannah said with a sigh of relief.
"Are we safe now? marc?"
" I don't know… but don't worry I'll be here to protect you honey."
Hannah then gasps as she realized that there is something wrong.
