After a long walk, Agnes realized that the coachman wasn't exaggerating at all. Indeed it was far away. Although it was autumn and no longer so hot, sweat ran down Agnes' body. She wiped her forehead several times on her sleeve.
The important thing was she had met a maid on the street and asked her if she was doing well for Dr. Mason's tower.
The maid reassured her, and Agnes continued on her way contentedly. At least she didn't walk that long unjustly. She was determined to show courage and patience, and it can't be. Sooner or later, she would arrive at her destination.
It was almost noon when Agnes sat down under a tree to catch her breath. She could see the tower from where she was sitting and was relieved that she had succeeded. She decided to rest a little before continuing because she felt her legs tremble with fatigue.
After resting, she got up from the stone she was sitting on, dusted her clothes, and continued on her way.
