I wait for her and she finally comes out of the locker rooms and walks passed me in a snarl. She is acting up. Was it a bad idea to bring her here? I hope not we were doing fine earlier!
I take my hand and try to stop her but she shifts her arm away from me and keeps walking without saying anything.
I continue following her for a bit and we pass a few blocks. She seems really upset. I need to get her to know I am here for her. I reach my hand out and stop her without forcefully and stop her.
"What do you want?" she remarks
"I want you to talk to me. I am here for you if you need anything and it seems like you need someone. Your mad aren't you."
"No...I am not"
"Yes, you are. No one breaks someone's arms because they are happy."
"Well that's different!"
"No it is not! Get yourself together"
*sighs* "Fine..."
I hold her hand as we both walk by some buildings. As the night creeps up even more silence fills the air. I feel like something is off.
"Hey Coda, can you follow me?"
"Uhm sure. Where are we going?"
"Just follow me..." she says softly
I follow her and we walk into an alleyway strangely enough and then follow her into what appears to be an opening near an unguarded wear house.
I take a few steps forward and Lara stops in her tracks. Why did she bring me all the way out here? Something is off. She is off. Maybe I need to help her get back to the hotel and we can sort this all out.
"H-hey uhm, Lara? How about we go back to the hotel so we can-"
She turns around suddenly with her kimono swinging in the air. I stop speaking in surprise and stay silent. What is this eerie feeling?
"Uhm Lara are you ok-" I stop speaking...I see her eyes. There are bloodshot red. She is in some sort of trance. I think something in the gym did something to her and raised her stress levels! I need to get her to calm down quickly!
"H-hey Lara, how about we go back to the hotel and get some sleep. You seem tired. After a long day of walking no doubt it haha...ha...."
She doesn't respond. Her hair covers part of her face. She seems irritated. I think it is time we head home now.
"C'mon Lara let-" suddenly there is a slash of her katana out of her hilt and she gets in a stance. And raises her sword above her head. She is going to attack me!
She runs at me with incredible speed and I dodge it rolling on the ground. Luckily I was a good distance away from her to dodge. I turn my body back towards her facing her and she turns to me holding her katana in one hand. Wait is that...blood on her katana? I look at my chest and notice some blood dripping from my shoulder. Not much but a bit.
It stings. But I will recover. Damn, it is like that katana cuts through anything! It cut through my armor. I look back at her and groan a bit and stand up holding my shoudler.
She rushes me again with incredible speed and slashes close to my neck but misses. I take a few steps back and collect my bearings.
"Lara what are you doing! Thats a real sword!"
"I must complete the test...."
"W-what?"
"Must complete the test. To become a warrior!" she screams at me and then takes her katana high above her head and rushes me again.
I dodge her first strike and she attempts to thrust her sword into me but it skids off my armor and over the side. I catch the sword in my arms and hold her tightly. She starts kicking me and gets both her legs between me and her and kicks me off three times before backing off.
What is this about her wanting to become a warrior? She already is. Wait a minute...Wait a minute! I remember something. She was supposed to complete a test where in order to become a warrior they must defeat a close loved one. I am that love one. But why is she using a real katana!
Unless..Unless it is the powder that is hightening her aggression! She has been off this whole day and her aggression has peaked! I need to get away from her. I turn around ready to make a run for it but then suddenly sense that something is faster coming behind me.
I slide under and sharp objects fly past me and hit a wall. Are those, throwing stars?! Since when did she have those! It is like she had them hidden on her this whole time! Did that kimono hide them this whole time?!
I turn around and see she had more in her hands and with a snarl throws more at my position. I jump up from the ground and duck down narrowly dodging them all. How many does she have?
I need my sword. I take my right hand prepared to draw it out but am shocked that it isn't there. I forgot I never brought it with me since we left the hotel! Damn it! Why did this have to happen!
A couple more throwing stars get thrown at me and I block them with my gauntlets. I guess these will have to do. I need to restrain her! I run at her blocking the stars thrown at me and tackle her down before she can get a swing on me
I get myself on her and grab her arms but she struggles. She moves her sword in a reverse grip and slashes near my tail causing me to back off. Not the tail. I need that to stand!
I hold my tail to myself and back off slowly keeping an eye on her and let go of my tail and turn around to run. No way she still has throwing stars left. God, I am starting to sweat!
I move myself away and start running away but stop as a throwing star hits me in the back staggering me to the ground. I roll a couple of feet before stopping. I hold my back and try to reach the star and I pull it out. It trails blood and I look back up to her who seems to be slowly approaching me with murderous intent.
"Gah!" I groan out and I pull the star out of my back. I throw it away and start crawling away but stop and she steps on my tail.
"Agh! Get off me!" I say as I kick her off me.
She however relents as she gets on top of my turns me over and attempts to thrust the sword into me. I catch the back with two hands and stop it from penetrating my heart. But she might be stronger than me!
The blade slowly gets closer and closer to my chest. I might be wearing armor but that katana cuts through my armor like butter. As well as her stars. I shift the blade over to my right and sucker punch her in the face and she backs off with a bloody nose. Sorry Lara but I had to!
I get myself up and throw a couple of jabs at her but she dodges them with ease and attempts a slash but I block it with my gauntlets. We start trading blows, she slashes I block, I strike she doged. No one is getting anywhere until. She throws a star at my foot causing me to get distracted and she attempts a strike at my head which I tilt my head avoiding it.
I kick her away from me and she uses her sword to stop her from moving backwards. She stands back up however and pulls the sword out of the ground and begins walking towards me again wiping the blood of her face.
I have a limp now. I try to back off my my foot hurts now that a star in lodged in there. I pull it out and throw it back at her but she deflects it away from me back at me which I block with my gauntlet. I can't keep this up. She already has a couple of strikes on me and all I did was punch her in the nose once.
I start backing off into a wall and I realize I am cornered for now. I start moving to the side with aa limp and begin running away as fast as I can with this injury. Where are the guards?!
*Meanwhile elsewhere*
A group of men are playing cards with a caiman guard and a orc guard.
"Your move" the caiman says brushing her feathers on his head
"Ha easy!"
"Damn it!" the caiman says. He lost a good amount of silver from that bet.
*Meanwhile back to Coda*
"Oof!" I say as I get thrown into the wall by Lara.
I managed to disarm her but we have gotten to hand-to-hand combat. Last time she beat me in the ring and that was us sparrying. How can I beat her now in my current state!?
She throws more stars at me and I grab a trash can lid and block 3 of the 4. The fourth one hits me in the thigh.
*huff huff huff* my breathing gets heavier with each passing minute I can't deal with this. I need to end this fast.
I get myself up with the trash can lid and throw it at her like Captain America would and she cuts it in half. I limp over out of the way of her next few throws of stars.
