Cyrus stared back at me without expression, "You lost the ring… The ring that was the last item the Headmaster had of his parents?"
I looked at him in a panic, "I-I swear it was in my pocket."
"There's no use panicking. Let's just find it." Cyrus looked around at the floor, "Where was the last place you had it?"
"I-I don't know!!! I remember playing with it and I thought-" I let out a scream, "What am I going to do!?"
"Don't panic yet-"
I grabbed him anxiously, "Is there a spell to find lost items!?"
"Probably-"
I started waving my wand, "RING! COME TO ME!"
The more I panicked, the more I couldn't focus.
Before long, the floor started to freeze over and I heard a thumping in my ears get louder.
Cyrus quickly pulled me into a hug and rubbed my back to calm me down.
Breathing in his scent, I felt myself start to calm down. The thumping in my ears lessened and the frost around me stopped spreading.
He spoke calmly, "We still have time-"
The music started, signaling the moment I would have to join my mother and hand over the ring. I screamed out anxiously, "I'M SCREWED!"
I quickly jumped out of his arms and waved my hand, "Appearo!"
We both stood there frozen, waiting for the ring to appear.
He glanced around, "What was that supposed to do?"
I looked at him somberly, "I-I thought it would appear…"
F*CK!
Now what can I do!?
Cyrus spoke up, "Is there something else you can use to at least get through the ceremony?"
I thought for a moment.
I'm not wearing any rings…
Neither is Cyrus.
Wait…
My eyes lit up, "I have an idea!"
I held out my palms and focused my energy on a clear image in my head.
I flipped through my memories until I came to an image of a ring I had stared at for so long until it was engraved in my memory.
In my hands, ice met with intense heat, melting and forming into the shape of a ring.
Cyrus's eyes slowly drifted from my palms to my face as he watched my intense focus. He was far more enthralled by my expression.
However, I was too busy focusing to notice a strange hint of desire flash through his eyes.
The ring finally took shape from the everlasting ice I had just created.
I paused when I noticed its likeness.
This won't do.
I can't have it resemble that one.
I refocused and used my magic once more to etch my parent's initials on the thing that resembled a diamond.
I let out the breath I'd been holding and wiped the sweat off my brow, "There."
Cyrus finally pulled his eyes away from my face and glanced at the ring, "You made it out of your unmeltable ice?"
"That's right!" I grinned with pride, "I'm glad you recognized it! Honestly, I've never made something like this so quickly… It might not hold up."
Cyrus smiled faintly, "Then you should hurry."
I went to scurry to my place before I paused and looked back at Cyrus in hesitation.
He lifted up an eyebrow.
Mixed with his handsome face and complimenting tuxedo, I drew my breath in.
I rushed back to him and took a firm stance in front of him. Before he could say anything, I stood on my tiptoes and pressed my lips against his.
He blinked in surprise, completely caught off guard.
I felt a faint blush cover my cheeks and mumbled, "Thanks for calming me down."
I promptly turned and fled, leaving behind a frozen Cyrus.
A tremble traveled through his body as he watched me leave. A dangerous look passed through his eyes as he clutched the shirt covering his burning curse mark.
He whispered, "Reika… You're really testing my control."
That's all I can post this week as this chapter is verrrrry long... Needless to say, there's going to be A LOT of drama.
