"HOW dare you address the Head of House Woolsey as 'noona?'"
Gypsy snapped out of her trance when she heard Yvo confront the Crown Prince rudely.
[What's gotten to this kid?]
"What's wrong with that?" Prince Cyrus complained, pouting. He truly was a child, huh? "Gypsy noona is older than me, so it's only right to call her 'noona.'"
"Who's your 'noona?'" Yvo growled at the Crown Prince lowly. "I am Noonim's one and only dongsaeng."
If they weren't in the presence of the Crown Prince, she would have laughed.
[Listen to this kid. He hates it when I call him my dongsaeng. But when other people claim to my dongsaeng, he gets mad and possessive. Aigoo. This is why possessive mean are so scary.]
But she knew that Yvo's possessiveness only stemmed out of him being an alpha and not because he genuinely cared for him. His personality, based on her observation and not on the game's lore, seemed to be the overprotective and possessive type.
Yvo was an alpha, through and through. He was the type of leader that would die protecting his people. But leaders like him were sensitive. They didn't like other people touching what they believed to be theirs.
[And since I pledged my loyalty to him, he thinks I'm his responsibility now.]
"Why are you getting angry?" Prince Cyrus whined again. "Is there a rule that says Gypsy noona can only have one dongsaeng, huh?"
Yvo, who always had a deadpan look on his face, actually showed his irritation this time by glaring at the Crown Prince. "With all due respect, I don't like Your Royal Highness."
"What does it have to do with me becoming Gypsy noona's second dongsaeng?"
Argh.
Gypsy felt like a headache was coming while listening to Yvo and Prince Cyrus bicker like little kids. Who would think that these two were the future Head of House Woolsey and the future emperor of the Helion Empire respectively?
[But both of them are still teenagers, so I guess they really are just kids for now.]
"I don't mind if Your Royal Highness wishes to call me 'noona,'" Gypsy said kindly, effectively stopping Yvo and Prince Cyrus from bickering like the children that they were. "But Your Royal Highness, please address me formally when we are in the presence of other people."
Prince Cyrus turned to her and beamed. "Of course, noona!"
She blinked, a familiar warmth filling her chest again. Before she knew it, she was already smiling back at the bright Crown Prince.
[I don't know why, but seeing Prince Cyrus smile makes me smile, too.]
"Yvo hyung, you should learn some humility and kindness from Gypsy noona," Prince Cyrus scolded the Crown Wolf playfully. "You need to be more humane, you know?"
"Why are you here?" Yvo asked, ignoring the Crown Prince's nagging. "You couldn't have come here alone, so where's your shadow?"
Shadow?
Ah, Yvo must be talking about the Crown Prince's personal knight.
[If I remember it correctly, the Prince Cyrus in the game is described as someone who wouldn't leave the palace without his knight. What's his name again…?]
"You mean Pierce Willard?" Prince Cyrus asked, smiling. "He's shy, so he only appears when I call for him." The Crown Prince turned to him. "Would you like to meet him, Gypsy noona?"
"Oh," she said, a little startled. Then she smiled and nodded. "If it's not too much to ask, then I'd like to meet Sir Willard, Your Royal Highness."
[I want to know if he can be Yvo's ally in the future.]
"What Noona wants, Noona gets," the Crown Prince said cheerfully, then he snapped his fingers. "Pierce, come out."
When Yvo called the knight a 'shadow,' she thought it was just a metaphor.
But, much to her shock, Pierce Willard emerged from Prince Cyrus' shadow.
[Daebak!]
She was impressed not only by Pierce Willard's grand entrance– but also by his shocking visual.
[He's so handsome!]
Tousled gray hair, dark orange eyes, pretty face features.
Pierce Willard was also tall and well-built. He looked like he was around the young Crown Prince's age. But he already looked tough and dependable.
"Gypsy noona, this is Pierce Willard– my best friend," Prince Cyrus said cheerfully. "Pierce, meet the new Head of House Woolsey– Lady Gypsy."
Gypsy and Pierce Willard exchanged polite greetings.
"Your Ladyship, please feel free to call me by my first name instead of my title," Pierce Willard said while bowing his head towards her. "I'll feel more comfortable if Your Ladyship does that."
Ah.
If she remembered it correctly, Piece Willard was originally a commoner. Thus, being called 'sir' that came with his title as a knight felt uncomfortable for him. She knew about that since the game emphasized that the nobles were against Pierce Willard to be Prince Cyrus' personal knight just because of his background.
"I understand, Pierce," Gypsy said, smiling kindly at the knight. "Then I'll be in your care from now on."
Pierce gave her a small smile as he nodded.
Much to her confusion, Prince Cyrus suddenly burst out laughing while looking at Yvo.
Confused, she turned to Yvo to see what made the Crown Prince laugh like there was no tomorrow. She didn't see anything funny, but she saw an annoyed young master.
Yvo even knitted his brows when their eyes met as if he was telling her that he was pissed.
Gypsy slowly avoided the young master's gaze.
[Aigoo, why is he suddenly upset with me?]
Teens and their mood swings, huh?
