But his body solidified and his departuring feet came to a standstill as two tiny arms wrapped around his waist and a warm tinier body pressed itself against his departing back. His eyes which were depraved of any emotion a second ago roundened into realization as he felt his shirt dampen, at his back, where her small face endeavored to dig into. He held his breath as he felt her petite structure tremble along with the silent tears that drenched his soul along with his shirt. 

Her fingers around his waist curled harder as though feeling that if she didn't hold onto him tight enough he would vanish, disappear, and leave her be, all by herself like everyone else had in her life. It was not that she was paralyzed with fear merely due to her experience in the dowdy alleyway.
