A part of my mind wanted to go alone so that I could ''discretely'' release some combustions and relieve my tension and reach my weekly quota for satisfaction.
But I'm a grown-ass man, not a damned monkey. I can hold back my urges.
I probably couldn't be discrete as I wanted anyway.
People aren't that retarded, they can connect the dots, put 2+2 and come to some pretty basic conclusions.
Like a very strong and famous firebender from my tribe disappears and you suddenly hear and possibly see gigantic explosions that shake the ground you're standing on.
I would have to hold back just to avoid falling into the icy cold water anyway. Because you know, explosion and shockwave on ice bad. Pretty basic really.
Sighhhh*
I give a deep sigh as I stroke Appa's fur, the second-best boy deserves it.
I know it's pretty dumb, but I really want to let out an explosion right now.
''Heh'' chuckle at the stupid innuendos that comes to my mind.
I understand how the people on earth got addicted to cigarettes now.
Neet never smoked so he never knew the addiction of this type, but I'm pretty sure I'm going through something similar.
Explosion withdrawal...
My greatest enemy yet.
At least my fingers and mouth aren't twitching like crazy.
It's like a guilty pleasure- NO! There's nothing guilty about this! A man love his explosions and have his hobbies!
''U kay bro?'' Sokka asks from the side.
He doesn't look concerned and his voice is casual, but I know he cares deep inside.
No wonder they're the good guys. It's so easy to warm up to them.
''Mhm'' I nod to him.
Or maybe not. Katara isn't as easy to approach as Aang and Sokka.
Aang's energetic and optimistic outlook is something fresh and I can't say I hate it.
It gets annoying after a while but he knows when to shut up, so he's fine to hang out with even though he's a child.
It's like having an enthusiastic and energetic younger brother.
Sokka on the other hand has a natural charisma.
It makes you naturally lower your guard and he silently slips into your friendship.
No wonder he keeps getting hot girlfriends in the show, dude just knows how to relax you and make you feel safe to be around him.
*Cough* That sounded kinda gay.
Katara on the other hand is still awkward with me. She doesn't talk or do much.
For example, when I coughed just now, she should have said ''My mother used to cough too'', but she didn't.
I swear I will break those emotional walls one day... or not. I don't really care that much about her.
''Can firebenders get cold?'' Aang asked from the side curiously after hearing my cough.
''More than you think. Actually, we're weak to cold. I don't have a cold though, I just coughed to distract myself from my thoughts. I will teach you a method to warm yourself up with firebending in the future. It is slightly dangerous though, you need to use your lungs and stuff.'' I explain to him.
There's not much to do on top of Appa, so I don't mind teaching him some more stuff. That's my self-given job anyway.
------------------Half an hour later-----------------
Appa is pretty fast. Actually even faster than I expected.
Not as fast as my peak speed, but it's still pretty damn impressive.
Apart from being an absolute unit, he's also an airbender.
He uses it pretty roughly during fights, kind of like how Korra used it when she first learned it, by his tail.
But during flight, he turns into a swift beast somehow, using it to glide over the air despite his weight. This guy is like ten tons and he glides. Fucking incredible.
Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that, we came to the famous location pretty quickly.
According to the tribe, most likelyhood of coming across Auroa is here.
I take a deep breath and fill my lungs with the cold air, relaxing myself.
This place is almost as spiritual as the Spirit Pond.
Sokka let out an annoyed groan, almost ruining my mood.
''See! We came at this cold night for nothing. You need to be pretty lucky to witness Aurora. Some small villages in the Water Nation even see them as holy as the great spirits like the Ocean Spirit.''
''Shh. Just enjoy it. Silence is kinda comforting.'' I wave my hand at him dismissively. He shouldn't have come if he wanted to be a bitch.
''Hmh.'' he harrumphed as he turned his head.
I check out Katara to see her with closed eyes and a happy little smile, her hand on her necklace.
Appa slowed down a little but kept going nonetheless. It was nice to be away from everything in the cold night, but we came here for the Aurora.
----20 minutes later-----
Finally we get a glimpse of Aurora and it's beautiful.
There's no other word that suits more than beautiful.
It looks somehow looks mysterious to me, even though I know exactly why it happens.
Neet in my brain has lots of useless knowledge for me to use, this is one of them.
Aurora isn't anything mystical or magical or spiritual, it happens because of... I won't even bother explaining it.
But despite all of that, it somehow feels spiritual to me.
I glance to my side.
Understandably, they all have starry eyes.
It's hard to see anything more beautiful than this.
I would show them some explosions to prove that there are better things, but I don't think they would appreciate it right now.
'Yeah, this is nice.'
I can't help but remember why I got stronger.
I didn't have any heroic delusions or any wish to rule.
It was a little bit vague at the time because even I wasn't entirely sure. I knew I had an opportunity better than any other so I hurriedly took it without wasting time.
After traveling many months away from home, I can see many reasons. Many wishes resided deep inside my heart.
Traveling and exploring is one of them, I'm sure of it.
I can't help but smile.
I'm sure I could see my Wisdom stat increasing if my stats were numerical right now.
But suddenly, ''Cough'' a loud and obviously fake cough interrupts my thoughts as I spring into a battle stance along with the Gaang.
'Damnit! I got too relaxed and actually let somebody get close without alerting me!' I scold myself.
Can't a man get some good silence and peace in this beautiful place?
