章 26: No More Running
Thirteen was brought onto a Marine ship and thrown in a cell with 4 guards keeping watch on him. Thirteen sat in the cell silently before asking "Can I have some water." The marines stared at him with their guns trained on his body and didn't say a word, obviously refusing his request for water.
Thirteen didn't ask again and sat in his cell, looking at the extra pair of cuffs on his hands and legs. He rested his back against the wall and closed his eyes as he waited silently.
A few minutes later, the ship finally started moving and Thirteen opened his eyes. The marines pointed their rifles at him and he just stared at them, not doing anything.
A few more minutes passed by just like that.
Until…
One of the Marines yawned and closed his eyes, Thirteen jumped up and lunged at the cell bars, ripping them off with his Devil Fruit powers while destroying the cuffs and setting himself free.
He lunged at the yawning marine and threw his chains at the other 3, smacking the rifles out of their hands, as he smashed his palm in the marine's face, blowing his head to bits.
He spun around and whipped out his leg, smashing another marine headfirst into the wall, crushing his head like a watermelon. He threw out his free hand and wrapped the chain around the other 2 marine's necks before pulling them to his knee and reinforcing it before he buried it deep into their faces.
The force from the pull and the kick ripped their heads from their bodies and sent them rolling on the ground as Thirteen wrapped his chains around his arms again. He licked his bloody hand before leaving the brig and sneaking up the deck. He crouched down and noticed 2 guards at the door to leave, but they were on the outside.
He peeked through the cracks and looked for another patrolling as well, but after finding no evidence to prove that there was, he backed down. He hardened both his hands and smashed them through the door, dragging them to him before throwing them behind him and whipping both chains around their necks, pulling violently and decapitating them.
He silently sneaked out the door before running down the hallways without making a sound. He hid around corners and peeked around them before continuing, killing every marine in his way as silently as possible.
He slowly made his way to the ship's wheel and grabbed the navigator from behind, covering his mouth while locking his neck with his elbow before flexing and breaking it. He stood at the wheel, letting the body slump to the ground, before looking out the window.
He saw Cocoyashi and stopped his actions for a moment before blinking and looking at his hands. He dropped them and turned back to the wheel, but as he did so, he caught a glimpse of an explosion on the island.
His hands immediately grabbed the wheel and turned it violently towards Cocoyashi before breaking it off and running out of the room down the ship's halls as marines flooded into the room not even 10 seconds after he disappeared.
Thirteen ran through the halls, jumping over Marines and slinging his chains around, hardening the tips and blowing arms, legs, and heads off. The ones he missed, he just left there as he gunned it deeper and deeper down the ship to the bottom.
He kicked open a room and looked at the people inside, they had chains on and shoveled coal into a giant boiler. He grabbed a shovel and threw in shovel after shovel of coal before throwing the entire shovel inside and breaking the chains of the people there as he ran out.
The people were stunned and looked at their broken chains, crying tears of joy.
Thirteen ran through the halls but was stopped as the marine leader blocked off both hallways at an intersection, saying "You dirty half-breed slave! What have you done!?" Thirteen didn't answer him and looked at all the marines pointing rifles at him. The leader sneered, "You asked for this. After I kill you, I'll kill all those villagers! Hmph, the higher ups will promote me for sure!"
Thirteen looked above him and back at the leader while crouching down, who pointed at him and said "Fire!" The marines opened fire and Thirteen blasted off the ground, leaving cracks as he punched through the ceiling to the next floor, escaping their onslaught.
The leader roared "AFTER HIM! WHAT ARE YOU STILL SHOOTING FOR! HURRY!"
Thirteen punched through a door and ended up outside on the deck as the ship was fast approaching Cocoyashi. As it got closer and closer, the marines reached Thirteen and pointed their guns at him as the leader came out and said "Heh, where will you run to n-" before his eyes widened and he shouted frantically "GET TO THE EMERGENCY SHIPS! NOW! NOW! NOW!" Before running faster than any of his men and taking a boat by himself.
The other marines scrambled to the boats as the Marine ship hit the shore of the island just in front of Arlong Park. Thirteen saw Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro fighting inside as the ship hit the shore and a rock before flying into the air.
The three were fighting the fishmen, when a huge shadow started creeping over. Luffy stopped and turned around before his eyes bulged out of their sockets, Zoro and Sanji looked back before they did the same.
They all shouted "A SHIP!?"
Suddenly, Thirteen jumped off the ship and threw his chains back, jamming them into the ship as he increased the density of his arms to the maximum.
He pulled over his head as veins bulged on his arms and he started sweating profusely. The flying ship started tilting downwards as the force of its flight and Thirteen's pulling was flipping it over.
Thirteen roared and slowly brought the ship down from the sky, flipping it over his head, sending the marines that hadn't gotten off yet, flying. He brought his arms down and slammed the ship on Arlong Park as Luffy grabbed Zoro and Sanji, running out of the park and grabbing the rest of the stunned silly villagers and Nami while Arlong and the fishmen jumped into the water.
The ship crashed into Arlong Tower and the ground, destroying the Tower and creating a huge explosion, blasting away the Cow Sea King.
Luffy flew into the air while multiple Fishmen were blasted out of the water but not killed.
Unfortunately, the marines and the unconscious Fishmen were 100% dead.
Luffy rolled on the ground as the rest just fell backwards and stared at the explosion, completely dumbstruck.
Zoro got back up and held his wounds from Mihawk, groaning "Talk about an entrance…" Sanji got up off of Nami, as he had shielded her, during the explosion and dusted off his suit, quipping "Yeah, you're telling me."
Nami stared at the big fire with her mind completely blank.
Luffy jumped up and ran back, shouting "COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!"
The smoke cleared and revealed a huge destruction zone with ship and building parts everywhere. On top of the wreckage, Thirteen was standing there, staring at the fires. Arlong and some of the fishmen came out of the water and coughed violently before looking at Thirteen in rage.
Arlong shouted "You! Why?!" Thirteen turned to Arlong and replied "I don't know why." Arlong was so angry he couldn't find the words to say, but Thirteen looked at the crew and continued "But I know I don't want to run away anymore."
Luffy rubbed his nose and chuckled, Zoro smirked, Sanji grinned as he lit a cigarette, and Nami cried with a smile.
Arlong shouted "We're the same! We could've been partners! Take revenge! Don't you want that?!" feeling truly betrayed, staring at Thirteen demanding an answer. Thirteen looked at Arlong and quietly said "Of course I do, but-"
Arlong cut him off and charged at him with a giant sword, shouting "But nothing!" before he could get to him, Luffy jumped in and punched Arlong, chuckling "You're mine remember?" as he chased after Arlong, resuming their fight.
Zoro walked over and said "You almost killed me." Thirteen just stared at him and Zoro sighed before walking away, saying "Octopus guy, I know you're still alive. Let's go again!" Sanji just looked at Thirteen before clicking his tongue and walking away, muttering "Show-off." as he kicked a Fishman.
Luffy shouted "Go check on Usopp, he was chased by a fishman before!" Thirteen blinked before walking away, passing Nami, who turned to him and opened her mouth before closing it.
Thirteen passed by the villagers and walked away from Arlong Park, into the island to find Usopp.
