The Sanctuary had never hosted a battle aside in the early settlers days when the residents had realized they could not continue in peace with their neighbors. The wards had always been strong enough to protect it. So there were no battlements or designated places for each person to run to. There were no procedures on how to deal with such a situation. Others from town were called in while many stayed with the younger children hidden away to protect them from any diabolical plans of Santos.

Soon the place swarmed with Dianthinites. Many who passed Callie gave her a reassuring smile. Callie tried to smile back, but it all still felt so unreal. She wasn’t sure how to react. She wasn’t sure what to do. Only Jardan next to her and their parents behind them stopped her from running.
