章 46: Higurashi: Rika’s Trauma Revealed
I don't really know if it's a good idea to put this here or not, especially since the idea is fairly similar to that of the Higurashi "reaction fan fiction" idea I had on my other request page. The only real difference is that it goes about it in a different way, and that they aren't teleported to a theater to watch all of the events that happened. Regardless, the idea for this one is that Rika has trauma regarding all of the time loops she's been through, and her friends try to figure out what's wrong/ catch glimpses of her trauma. I want this to take place post original Higurashi canon.
Hopefully this will inspire someone to do a work at least similar to this idea. I know works of this sort already exist, but so far I've only found 5 to 7 fan fictions at most that meet the bare minimum requirements to be similar enough, and around 2 to 3 fan fictions that are exactly what I want. Unfortunately, even those 2 to 3 fan fictions are too short for my liking, and they end relatively quickly.
Instead, I want this request to be drawn out for a long period of time/chapters; I want it to be a slow process, and for the characters to find several clues as to what's going on/has happened, but for them to not get a direct answer to everything until the end of the fan fiction. What they do figure out leaves them feeling scared and confused, and once they figure out the entire truth at the end, have them feel terrible about their actions in the other worlds that Rika has lived through.
Have both Rika and the other characters try to comfort each other, and just in general, have the characters excluding Rika feel absolutely terrible, terrified, and conflicted about several things. Also have Rika be scared of the idea of her friends rejecting her for who she's become after so many time loops, and have all of the hiding-the-truth that she does during this fan fiction be for that reason.
Update: I no longer know if this idea is valid or not, because I heard someone mention somewhere that Rika doesn't actually remember the experiences of her past deaths or something. I haven't actually watched the series, so unfortunately I'm rather blind as to what's true or not. It's probably my own fault for getting into animes via reading fan fiction of them rather than watching them, so I'll work to amend that sometime in the future.
