I watch as Takashi and Kohta struggle with the Gun safes. I watch them in amusement as they geek out over the guns. They will need as much firepower as possible for what's coming; This world is far more dangerous than what Highschool Of The Dead was supposed to be. Right now, the only zombies outside are Walkers, but soon the Brawlers and other infected will start showing up more frequently. My shadow that has been hunting for the last two days has already found and killed one Brawler, one of the hunter variants.
Thinking of what I will do with the information I received from the shadow and what I will do going forward. I have no interest in continuing to follow the group around and protecting them any more than I already have. Of that, I am sure. Right now, with my Physical strength, I can lift three tons over my head. That means I can easily lift cars over my head. Frankly, pretending to be human for the last two days has been mentally tiring for me. Of course, I could always hypnotize the group not to notice but messing with humans' minds more than necessary can leave lasting damage to them. Usually, this would not be a problem, but I want Saeko and the Shizuka. And I don't want damaged goods.
According to the Gentek and Black watch, the world still has hope. Only the biggest cities in the world are have been directly infected by Mercer. Countries like China and Russia with a lot of land but a lower comparative population have cities and small towns free of infection. This will not last for long the virus is spreading very fast and will consume all of these unaffected areas within a month. On the other hand, countries like Japan and South Korea with high population-to-land ratios won't last two weeks at the rate that the virus is spreading.
I only have two options that I can think of now.
Option one is to stay in this world, hunt for points, and wait for my power to reach High-Class. This will allow me to have a higher power once Canon starts in DXD. The negative of this option is that I might lose this world and the benefits humans can give us Devils. In addition, Heller will not be able to purge the whole world of infection before everyone is dead.
Option two is to get my family involved. The Phenex family is a noble family that rules over a vast territory. This means we have a comparatively big army to protect this territory. The Phenex families army would clear the virus within two weeks.
I decide to go with a variation of options one and two. I will take Japan for myself and leave the rest for my family to deal with. This world is too big for me to swallow alone, and there will be other more valuable words that will come along later. This will increase my power and the family's power by a lot as we devils can increase our power by making contracts with humans.
There should be a few billion humans left after the virus is purged. This is far more than the human's devils are able to make contracts within DXD. DXD's humans are all shared between all the supernatural factions. The Phenex family can let their army complete contracts in this world or even rent the land out to other houses. This will increase my power as well as the family's power by a lot as we devils can increase our power and influence.
When A devil makes a contract with a human, we take a tiny bit of their potential; this has absolutely no effect on the human as no human ever reaches their full potential. Angels and gods also benefit from humans, but they use prayers instead of contracts like devils. When a Human prays to an Angel or God's, they offer a minimal amount of their potential as a sacrifice; this adds up over time and eventually makes them stronger.
As I continue thinking over my options, I see Shizuka walk in with just a towel. I decide that I don't want the guys to see her like this, so I hypnotize them to leave.
