Gail Wright patted her face, then got up and took a shower before getting ready to rest.
Her cellphone buzzed; it was a text message from Ian Leighton.
Gail glanced at it. Ian was reminding her to chat with her father for a little while before resting early and to pack up what she needed for tomorrow.
As Gail looked at Ian's message, tears blurred her vision.
It wasn't because of the text message, but rather... Gail's emotions had yet to settle after learning about the truth just now.
To Gail, Ian Leighton was her rock. When she was alone, it didn't matter, but when he was around, she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with a sense of unease.
Gail didn't reply. She stuffed her phone under her pillow and lay down, tears dropping onto the pillow without even drying her hair first.
After an unknown period of time, Gail eventually fell asleep in this state.
Early the next morning, when Gail woke up, she had a terrible headache.
