"Someone's knocking!" Ian Leighton turned his head and said to Grace Gordon.
Grace nodded: "I heard it... I'll go open the door."
"Be careful, it might be a reporter." Gail Wright looked worried.
"Grace Gordon! Open the door! I know you're inside... Open up!"
Gail Wright's words had just fallen when Florence Kirk's anxious voice came from outside the door.
Grace's footsteps paused at the sound of Florence's voice, but Florence knocked even harder, shouting Grace's name: "Grace Gordon... Open the door! I have something to say to you!"
Grace knew... Florence had come to see her about her father's situation.
But as for her father's situation, there was nothing Grace could do.
Florence was banging on the door with great force, disturbing the people across the street enough that they came out to see what was happening.
"Young lady... the person you're looking for might not be home," the old lady across the street kindly reminded her.
