章 5: Chronicle V: Ghost Rider

The moon was looming in the night sky, focusing on the entire city from the highest point in the sky. Daniel was still immersed in his thoughts. The reason? He couldn't shake that feeling of familiarity from him when he shook hands with Johnny Blaze. The guy had something that made him shiver. He wasn't used to his new "self" yet, and now more questions are coming was not to his liking.

The boy clicked his tongue. He needed to know more about this whole thing if he wanted to kill Mephisto. He required all the knowledge of his new powers, his status, cooperating with Zarathos, etc. If he didn't do a training soon, he was more than sure he would go. to die in his first real battle.

During his journey, he had already spoken to the spirit about his meeting with Blaze. In turn, he asked if there was a way for the two of them to act as one unit, risk-free and so on.

To his surprise, Zarathos scoffed and clarified that, with its precarious level, there was currently no chance of happening.

The spirit continued to name various reasons and mock the boy's physical and mental state, to the point that Dante braked the motorcycle in obvious anger.

Before he could speak "kindly" to his tenant, the boy heard a very familiar sound in the distance. Paying attention, he recognized a motorcycle engine, along with strange lighting around it.

- What the hell...? - he murmured.

Squinting, he tried to make out the strange approaching light. It took a few seconds, but finally he found out that it was the approaching figure.

Wasting no time, he started his vehicle and took off at full speed.

The one who was chasing him was nothing more than the Ghost Rider himself, who was getting closer and closer to the boy until he was next to him. Dante stared at those empty sockets with disgust... Was this what he looked like? Damn...

He could not think of any joke as his enemy threw his chain towards him, which he dodged with great difficulty. He had to get away from that monster whatever. Raising the speed at full, he moved away without looking back. For a second he checked his back to check to see if he was following him, but couldn't see anything.

The Ghost Rider was watching him from another route, located to his right. The highway divided into two roads: one below, which Dante took, and the one above. The highway continued on a small mountain, which was located above another highway that was lower and led to another location.

They were separated by height, but that was not an inconvenience for the Spirit of Vnganza, who attacked the boy with a fireball.

The boy watched as the path got brighter and brighter. He managed to see the fireball, but was unable to dodge it. The impact was strong. So much so that he lost control of the motorcycle, falling from the rock that separated both routes by height.

- No... Not like this... Not like this...- he murmured, falling like a dead weight. The last thing he felt was his impact on the rocky ground.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Johnny Blaze got out of his vehicle and walked over to the boy's motorcycle, analyzing it thoroughly. It was not a bad piece, it is true. But what was worrying is that it had not been covered in flames. That meant that the boy had not transformed, and therefore he did not succeed. His heart raced.

If he had to explain why he stalked a teenager on the highway at speeds not allowed by law and, most of all, the kid died in the process, it was like yelling at the electric chair.

If he had killed an innocent child, it was a sin and enormous weight that he would have to carry his entire life.

- Please don't be dead ... For God's sake, don't be...- he whispered excitedly, but sighed in relief when he didn't see any body or blood where the boy fell.

Now the question was, where is he?

What he felt next was his response. A chain entangled his feet and smashed him against the pillars of the freeway, destroying them instantly. Jhonny, already transformed, immediately got up. Those blows were nothing. Practically, in that state was impossible to hurt him, unless a weapon created by an archangel or God got through his body.

- 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹,𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁.- he said, joking.

Ghost Rider looked up. In front of him was a being equal to him in every way, however, the flames in his head were...

Red...?

- 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲...

Zarathos lunged at his opponent in an attempt to hit him, but was dodged. Fury blinded him, so he kept throwing punches at Johnny, but failed to land any. He didn't speak, just growled like a wild beast. However, his movements were increasing in speed, until he managed to land a kick in the chest of the Rider, throwing him back a little.

Wasting no time, he attacked again, but this time his opponent was ready.

The Ghost Rider masterfully dodged the blows, countering with a right cross punch, a left punch, and finished with a powerful hellfire-infused hook to the jaw.

- 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗮 𝗵𝗶𝘁! - he exclaimed, throwing Zarathos into the air.

But to his surprise, his opponent spun in midair, landing safely on the ground, bending over and head down. That threw him off a bit.

Zarathos trembled a little, throwing his head back. Without warning, he blew flames from his mouth like a flamethrower, catching the Ghost Rider off guard and covering much of the place in fire.

The Rider grunted in pain, something that seemed impossible. Fire from a demon, specifically another Ghost Rider, shouldn't damage it like this.

When the attack was over, the flames died after a few moments, clearing the field for the brief battle. Being able to see clearly, the Ghost Rider looked around, noting that the boy and his motorcycle had disappeared; so he went back to being Johnny Blaze.

He let out a sigh. The good news is that he confirmed his suspicions: the boy was undoubtedly a Ghost Rider.

On the other hand, this encounter left him with more questions than before. Was he the one fighting, or the Spirit? What the hell were those red flames? He never saw them in a Spirit of Vengeance before.

Although there was something ... But it was not possible.

They couldn't be related to him. He's been dead for a long, long time...

With much to think about, Johnny got on his motorcycle and drove away from the venue.
