章 63: I Deserved It

Jasper's eyes narrowed. April had said she was minding her own business when Michael barged in so she probably had been reading but something about his words rang false.

She said she had a perfect setup and didn't want anyone messing with it before trying to get him to leave. What did she mean by that? And what could Michael have said to make her say such a thing?

A door that locked from the outside was fairly suspicious. Had he been asking April about that? But if he had been, why would she essentially say she didn't want to leave? That didn't make sense. She hated it here.

Or…she had. At the very least, she had tried to give him that impression the first few weeks of being here.

She might enjoy it more now that she was watching TV and reading comic books to her heart's content. That meant what he had been trying to do was working, didn't it? That was a good thing!
