章 170: different ways of using magic

I walked out while whistling a tune. I was pretty relaxed for the most part. I had almost unlimited Magical energy so getting tired was the least of my worries. But I soon saw Percival coming my way.

"You did good man. As high profile as always." He said while tapping my shoulder before entering the field. I simply smiled slightly and made my way up the steps and sat down in Percival's seat. Everyone was a bit more numb to my performances by now. although they were still shocked, they got over it much quicker.

"What was that magic you just used?" Abby asked as she leaned in. Fred, Robert and Jenna also looked over at her question. John was combing his hair like an idiot. But I could tell he was listening in.

"Nature magic. Well, technically that's what I personally call it. Nature magic is essentially just plant magic. But it's stained with my black flames which give it that charred look." I explained while making myself comfortable in my seat.

"Can you explain how you did it?" Jenna asked.

I didn't really see the point since they wouldn't be able to pull off the same effect but who knows.

"I channelled my magical energy through my feet and into the ground. You need to be able to perfectly picture what you want it to change into. But you can't neglect making a sort of 'connection' with the earth itself. it's almost like you're telling it what to turn into in a sense.

This spell specifically has a heavy emphasis on transfiguration. If you have the imagination and you're able to visualise it, you can create shapes or objects for combat or for other situations.

So having done that, you increase the output of our magic and send it out in waves with a half-second interval. You cannot fail this step or you will fail the spell completely."

Robert frowned, "why does it have to be in that rhythm specifically?" he asked.

I nodded at his question, "because that is the frequency, I found allows me to best interact with the plants. It's like waves of electric stimulation on a plant. I shape it after that line of thought since plants have been proven to react to electrical stimuli."

Everyone's eyes widened and Jenna spoke up next.

"Who knew we could apply it in this way. You must have done a lot of testing in order to get the frequency right." She said with a pensive look.

I simply shrugged; "this is one of the hundreds of ways to use magic. Some need hundreds of precise calculations to transform something into something else. There is no one way of using magic. It depends on your perspective. It's more of a mind thing than anything else. If you are able to make magic bend to your will and do what you want, then there is no reason to implement so many silly rules and calculations. Naturally, if you are inclined to such a way, then good for you. I hypothesis that different countries have different ways of using magic due to the different environments they grow up in. Culture and their interactions with one another may also have an impact.

In England, it's all about knowing the ins and outs and the specific intention behind each spell, charm or jinx in order to invoke it correctly. But is that the only correct way? They need intense studying in order to use a simple spell. I refuse to believe that this is the only way. I believe that is what English wizards have come up with that works best for them. But there must be more efficient and more diverse ways of using Magic.

I have found my own unique way. I tend to lean massively towards my imagination and visualization to invoke my spells. But this also requires a very high sensitivity for magic. Something that cannot be improved very quickly. I was lucky enough to be born with it, but you can train to perceive it better, although it does take a long time.

Magical beasts have a very high sensitivity to magic because they have it coursing through their bodies. Some more than others. I also believe that werewolves, animagi and metamorphmagi have a higher sensitivity due to alterations made to their bodies. Whether they are born with it or not. But this is not the only way to use magic. Like the previous example, I have just proven that there are two ways of using magic. What's to say there aren't more?

Perhaps it's a mixture of a personalised method with an infusion of pre-existing ways of using magic. It all depends on the circumstances of the individual." I explained.

These were my current thoughts on the matter. I had already completely stopped using the English Method of casting magic. Simply because, with the help of the dragons, I had created my own method of using it. I had completely bent it to my will. Granted, a major factor to my success was due to the reconstruction of my body, the constitution of the house-elf and the fusion between me and Drak from an early age.

But that was what I was getting at, it was a personalised method that suited me best. but I also understand why magic is taught to be used in a certain way since it can be generalised and has been proven to be effective; to a certain extent of course.

But as I was talking, Fred seemed to flinch at the word werewolf which instantly piqued my interest.

'What connection did he have to werewolves?' I wondered.

Jenna and Robert also had pensive looks on their faces. Each in their own thoughts. Abby was frowning heavily at my words and looked at the battle going on. John was still combing his head but there was a curious glint in his eye that I just happened to pick up on.

I wondered what would come of my words today. How would they influence them? But it would have to wait until they showed progress. I then turned to the battle that had already finished.
