The morning began with renewed vigour. They both left in search of the lady in the mask, Chantel. Evelyn followed Elric in the market, curiously looking at the shops and the various items they sold. Few of them she had never seen. She wanted to have a closer look but stopped herself as the main focus was now the case.
As she walked glancing at the shops, she didn't notice Elric halt and bumped into him. Frowningly, she looked at him turn around, gazing at her bemused.
"Are you trying to make a record of bumping into me, Miss Hiccups?" He asked with a mischievous smile.
"You stopped walking suddenly," she replied in a complaining tone.
"Cause we are at the place we need to be."
His words made her puzzled as they stood in front of a Tavern. She looked bewilderedly at him wondering if he wanted to have a drink in the broad daylight instead of solving the case.
"Hey, don't look at me like that. I am not going to have a drink. At least not when you are around."
This sentence made her brows knit deeply, trying to intimidate him to answer what does that mean.
"I don't know, but listening to her name dragged me here. I am pretty sure one would know about her at this place," he explained, ignoring her looks.
She nodded and saw him walk inside. Confusion arose in her whether to follow him or stand outside and wait. She had never entered the Tavern before and wished to as well.
She saw Elric turn around and say, "Are you trying to dry yourself in freaking hot sun? If not, then follow me."
Evelyn jolted herself towards him right after listening to his words. In her mind, she thought, "I am the princess of the Zenira empire yet this man dominates me. Should punish him by teaching him a good lesson but after the case." She nodded to herself.
Entering the Tavern, she saw it was a dimly lighted place. It was decorated with cutted pieces of mirror that shone in the dim light. The strong smell of alcohol made her face scrunched in disgust. The leering gaze of men, having their drinks, made her uncomfortable. She stepped closer to Elric and decided not to leave his side even for a single moment.
Following him silently and glancing all around, she heard Elric speak, "Do you know about Chantel?"
She looked in his direction and saw the man who served the drinks shake his head in no.
"Chantel can't be found in the daylight," a man's voice caught their attention.
Looking at the man, Evelyn distorted her face in a grimace as he was overly drunk and by the appearance of it, he looked like he might fall just by pushing with a tiny finger.
"Where can we find her?" Elric asked, unbothered by the man's condition and sticking to the investigation.
"A place" *hic* "where one could" *hic* "See the heavens," the man said between the hiccups, finally completing his sentence.
"What place is that?" Elric asked.
"The NIGHT THEATER," the drunk man screamed loudly. Hearing his words few others accompanied the ruckus.
"Let's go out from here. Anyways, we got the information. The men here are maniacs right now," Elric commented and dragged Evelyn out of the Tavern.
Evelyn too didn't struggle to get away from his hold and followed silently.
Walking out of the Tavern all she thought was about Night theatre. She wondered if she should join him or let him go alone.
"Are you planning not to miss the chance of coming along with me to the night theatre?" Elric said with a smirk on his face.
"No!" A quick response came from her side.
"So you want me to investigate alone?" He asked, putting her into a dilemma.
"No"
"So you want to join me," he stated with a chuckle.
"NO!" She got anxious by every passing second about what to reply. She knew how the night theatres were. The place where the erotic scenes were played in front of the audience. The audience who mostly were rich and noble as only they could afford to buy the tickets to see them.
Elric chuckled again and stated calmly, "Don't worry, I will go alone and get her to the inn so that we can question her together."
Evelyn sighed in relief and nodded at him, agreeing to his words.

The time of the play in the night theatre arrived. Evelyn saw Elric readying himself to watch the play as she sat on the bed gazing at his well built upper body, unaware of being watched from the mirror.
"Alright, I'm going now. Will come back soon," he informed her.
"What do I do till then?" She asked.
Looking at her two innocent eyes, he replied, "Sleep, it would be too late once I return. And don't worry I won't start the inquiry without you."
She nodded her head like an obedient child and saw him leaving the room. As he said, she fell back, preparing herself to sleep. One hour passed, two hours passed and all she did was keep on changing her sides trying to sleep but wasn't able to.
She sat straight on the bed and looked outside the window. Her gaze was drawn by the moon. Her oceanic blue eyes gleamed as she admired it. It appeared that the full moon was in a few days. Cold air in the atmosphere made her shiver. She rubbed her arms trying to keep her warm and wondered about Elric.
"What might he be doing?" She murmured.
