I left the headmaster's office that night and went straight to my room. It was all that I could do to eat part of my dinner before I passed out. I don't even remember getting into my bed. And I didn't want to think about the fact that it might have been Hiam that had carried me there. I wasn't a little boy, so that wasn't something that I would allow to happen.

Putting the night out of my head, I tried to focus on the new day, and what I needed to do. I wasn't going to let this wait another day, not when this person was so close to Addie on several occasions. I needed to protect my fiancée. I needed to make sure that she wasn't with this person again if they were dangerous.
