章 170: Meeting The Queen

**ADDIE'S POV**

I could see a reassuring smile on Nishi's face. She truly meant what she was saying and thought that I would be just fine with the way that things were right now. However, I don't think that she took into account just how nerve wracking it would be for me to meet the queen. I mean, there was a rumor that I was here to be the king's mistress. If the queen heard that, she would forever be suspicious of me. She would likely hate me. And how was I supposed to oppose the queen? That's right, I wasn't.

I didn't want to get closer to the royal family. I didn't want to get closer to Nolan. I didn't want to do anything except to learn and survive long enough to get out of here. That was my one and only goal. Protect myself until I am free.
