Maximus was too angry to decipher what he was doing. All he wants to do was to have a chance. 

Can't she see his effort? 

He put his all pride, arrogance, and his power aside and climbed down all the steps just to get her back to him. To get her back he put everything aside so that he could get her forgiveness. Never in history has he ever climbed down so many steps and put all his ego and whatever he has aside to apologize. 

He was desperate to get her apology and was trying hard to make it up to her. But she was not at all cooperating. Even he was getting hurt in the process. 

Can't she understand that? 

Everyone was trying to make them have sex but he was against that idea. 

Can't she see his efforts?
