章 191: Reunion (2)
Leo led Noah and Alyona back to the little office area where Leo and Valentina were a while ago.
Leo opened the door and invited Alyona and Noah inside, who both obliged and entered.
Leo looked at Valentina to see if she wanted to tag along as well but she shook her head.
"I'm staying here, consider the privacy a bonus reward," said Valentina as she walked off.
Leo nodded toward Valentina before entering the room, and taking a seat as well.
Noah sat down in the chair opposite to Leo, looking relaxed meanwhile Alyona stood next to him, observing Leo cautiously.
"So what's this about? I assume you're the messager of another delta command member, aren't you?" said Noah.
Leo shook his head sideways.
"Oh, what then?" asked Noah.
"I'm kind of offended that you don't recognize me anymore, Noah."
Noah looked a bit surprised.
"I'm pretty sure we have never met before, or at the very least I do not remember, would you care to reintroduce yourself?" asked Noah politely.
"How about I show you?"
Leo put his hands in the air to assure Noah and Alyona that his intentions were not hostile as his body started to shapeshift.
Alyona was ready to move in, but Noah stopped her.
Leo shapeshifted a couple parts of his body before reversing back to his original form.
"There should only be one person that you know that can do such things, right Noah?"
A look of shock could be seen in Noah's eyes as he called out a name.
"Leo...?"
"The one and only."
There was silence for a handful of seconds before Noah started laughing
"You really are unpredictable, aren't you Leo?"
"I guess you could say so, yeah."
"Let me confirm some things, you were captured by the foundation, weren't you?"
Leo nodded.
"Yeah, I was, from who did you hear that?"
"MC&D, an insider informed me about your disappearance, when MC&D got no response when trying to check in with you they assumed you went rogue, that was until they sent in a scouting unit and they found the car wreck being cleaned up by a foundation personnel members. At that point you were marked Missing In Action in their register. I got informed by the insider due to our affiliation."
Leo sighed.
"What did they tell the squad I was in?"
"Oh, they simply told them you went Missing in Action, no other details. Now I got a question for you, Leo."
"Go right ahead." Said Leo.
"What did you tell them when you were in detainment?"
"Nothing, I can assure you that everything that was said was not of relevance, and nothing can be tied back to you. I destroyed the phone that had all my contacts in it before i got detained, so they've got nothing on you, this is also why I had to contact you like this."
"Leo, how sure are you about this?" asked Noah with a serious expression.
Leo sighed.
"Noah, there's nothing to worry about. I managed to access my own files during my escape and there are no mentions about you or any other connections to me, except for MC&D. Although we have other stuff to worry about."
"Such as?"
"An overseer is out for me, which is also the reason why I got captured to start with."
There was silence for a while until Noah sighed.
"Fuck. You're on your own if an overseer is involved." said Noah.
"Huh? Are you fully withdrawing your support?"
"I can't really afford to get involved with overseers and all of that, that's a bit too much for me. I'm still willing to support you, but only to a certain extent and on the condition that I remain fully unknown."
"Good enough for me, but I'm sure you got a handful of questions left."
"Of course I do, there is still a good amount of stuff we have to talk over after all. Let's start with the most obvious question that I got for you."
"Which is...?"
"HOW THE FUCK DID YOU END UP IN THE INSURGENCY?!" yelled out Noah.
Leo really had to hold back his laughter on this one.
