The room was filled with the quiet hum of the machines.

Mo Jiang's hands trembled as she clasped them together, her eyes never leaving her mother's face.

Minutes passed, though to Mo Jiang, they felt like hours.

She was about to say something, perhaps to ask if it was working when Yu Holea suddenly stood up and began adjusting a few of the needles.

"Her energy is responding," Yu Holea said, her tone filled with focus.

"It's faint, but it's there."
