章 35: The king's bane

Marcus was caught between a rock and a hard place. The letter was written and signed by him but he had done no such thing. He had never even met Cole, to begin with, let alone ask him to marry his sister. 

Nothing made sense. He had tripped and fallen at the princess by accident. But now, someone was turning his mistake and making him look guilty. He couldn't do anything. 

He was more than ready to leave the king for everyone's peace of mind but not a villain but with honor and pride intact. 

"I'm sorry," he heard the king apologize to Reina. Which forced him to glance at the queen. Reina stood still unmoving with all the eyes on her. 

Morpheus wobbled helplessly towards her and laid his head on her shoulder. He was way too tired to keep fighting. He had been going against everyone for so long and he had forgotten what it was like to just have a peaceful day in the palace.
