Last night was a lot of work. I woke up feeling tired. Then I had swordsmanship lesson with Father. Bree learned with Father as well at the same time. She was good. A natural.

After that, Bree wanted to hunt with Father. Father did not hunt. He said Mum hated it.

"I don't see anything wrong with it," Bree said.

"Your mother doesn't like it," Father said. "Besides, I think she has got a point. Why kill animals for no reason?"

At that moment, I remembered how devastated Mum was when her cat Sapphire died. Sapphire died when she was eleven. She had a good life.

"I had her during a hard time," Mum said. "She meant a lot to me. She got me through one of the hardest period of my life."

Yes, I knew what Mum had been talking about. Demian and Bree did not know, but I did. Before me, Mum had been pregnant once. She had a miscarriage. In fact, two people made that miscarriage happen.
