As i completed my plan for the future i allocated my stats, 1 point into charisma and the rest into intelligence, then i started doing research on the current number one tower participant and soon i found out that it would be a while before i can complete the world quest because the current first ranker can lift a 25 story building while i could probably only lift a 10~ story building.
But besides his pure strength, there is nothing much about him i could find besides the fact that he is friends with the 3rd ranker
I sent a message to rin.
[C: what trial did you pick and what technique did you get?
R: i decided to go for the trial of speed and got light empowerment. (A.n: i suck at naming things feel free to give me names of techniques)
C: i see how does it work and what does it do?
R: well I'll tell you about the details after i come back but in simple terms i attune my qi to have light affinity then i make it flow tghourgh my veins into my body which makes me much faster and perceptive.
C: hmm this technique seems like it could be replicated by using different types of mana instead of qi.
R: you took those words right out of my mouth we should try to recreate the effects of this technique, let's go to one of your worlds.
C: alright, see you in a second.]
As i sent the message i ordered my system to teleport us into a new undertale world and to have our background as hermits on some random mountain in nice hut with a spacious basement.
Appearing inside the basement we said our greetings and i told him to show me the technique in use by running around me with it active.
I had my eyes glued onto rin as he started the demonstration.
"Alright i am using it" rin said as now i could see that he was slightly emitting light but that wasn't the most surprising fact, no it was that his life force (same thing as qi) slightly changed colour and how it flowed throughout his body.
Usually the flow of qi would be slower and a bit more disorganized and sometimes there happened small errors in the flow of qi such as minor blockages appearing for a moment before disappearing from what i saw in most creatures thus far, but now his qi flowed almost perfectly to every nook and cranny of his body.
When rin started running around me i used my skills to have a faster perception not because i needed it to keep up with him but because i wanted to observe him for "longer" and now that he was running around me i could see that his qi was emanating a slight amount of energy into the surroundings.
I told rin to stop and start explaining every detail of how the technique works and when he was done explaining i got the gist of how it worked so i tried to recreate a bastardised version of his technique but with lightning mana. Why lightning? Because using lightning mana is the easiest as of now and i have a good resistance to lightning if something went wrong.
"Alright i think i will try to replicate it right now since my body is like the perfect test subject since what doesn't kill me only makes me more resilient" i told rin who nodded and took out his book to write in how my experiment goes.
I change my mana to have the lightning affinity and begin to circulate it in the same way as i saw the life force flow but it was quite hard to do that with my mana veins but i still managed to do it but it was a really minor success since it mostly damaged my body while only slightly increasing my stats, in conclusion as of now this bastardised version of the technique should be heavily modified.
"So?" Rin asked to which i responded with my hypothesis "it barely works and as of now it is not fit to be used in battle since it would be hard to cast any spells with a different element than the one you use and the fact that it took a large portion of my mental focus to use it so even lightning spells would not be viable beyond the simplest of lightning spells. As for my theory on how to ease my mental focus on this technique the first way that comes to my mind is creating much more complicated mana circuits and that should also ease the burden on the body, while i personally can overlook my body being damaged continuously for anyone without my adaptation or regeneration would be quite deadly to use for longer periods of time" i ended while looking at my body which was slightly smoking from the electric current and i suddenly realized a new way for me to train my resistance skills.
'if i intentionally make different types of mana flow in the wrong way i should be able to level up my resistances to said elements, but i don't think i will be able to get a resistance skill to something like air magic since it can only really be used to do physical damage, ah well whatever now i don't have to train my res skills by using spells to light myself on fire or electrocute myself'.
"Damn, you made much more progress on the first test than i imagined you could" rin said as he wrote inside his book.
We then tried to study the dispersal technique but even after i explained it to the fullest of my ability we still couldn't make heads or tails of how it works so we decided to post pone it and focus on our empowerment project that we decided to call {project: elemental mana empowerment} yeaaah neither of us are much good at naming things so we decided for the title of the project to be mostly self explanatory and i was pleasantly surprised by the system because of a new quest i got.

After a few more tests we decided that rin would either go to terra craft to scout out the game and make some connections for a week and give me updates when he comes back from hard mode, while i would make my mana circuitry more complex.
7days later...
I opened my eyes and took a deep breath just to get some cold air into my system since breathing was nothing but a formality at this point to not freak out others.
Sigh 'damn i was literally upgrading my mana circuitry 24/7 now my body is basically one big mana circuit and it actually gave me a perk' and while i was upgrading my circuitry i also decided to make my mana denser slightly, bringing my density stat to 30

'great perk' i thought as i was moving the mana inside my body and it was extremely easy so i decided to try and recreate rin's technique but this time i used mana with the light element.
'Partial success, this does seem to work but i need to use roughly 5 times the amount of mana compared to rin's qi and on top of that my mana version still hurts the user but not as much as before since a person could keep it up for about 30-40 seconds before dying. Nonetheless it was progress' i thought as i looked at my quest progress which was now 50%~ complete which means that having extremely complicated mana circuits was half the technique.

Rin materialised Infront of me but now he had some tattoos on his body so i decided to observe a tattoo under his eye

"Anyway what did you do while in that world?" I asked rin.
"Well to start it off its quite different from pre hard mode, firstly everything is much stronger than before, secondly basically half the world is infected by the crimson and corruption, third of all there is no moon. Now for the less important things. There was a new type of magic, tattoo magic which is quite good for just about anyone but if you can't control your mana it will not be as useful but useful nontheless. Anything else you want to know?" rin explained.
"Thanks for the info but let's just get to recreating that technique" i said to which rin agreed and we got to work.
2 weeks later...
"Alright now it should be complete, try it out" rin said as we were inside a room that had a dozen drawing boards with data and drawings about the technique we were recreating.
I let light mana flow tghourgh out my body as i started to glow slightly and i heard a mental ding twice about my mission being complete and a new skill being gained'accept reward' i thought as i stopped using the technique and looked at the skill/technique.

"It's complete now but it still uses twice as much mana as your ki technique and does slight damage to the body, if i had to guess i would say that ki is more compatible with this type of empowerment" i told rin who nodded and tried to do his light technique but now with mana since he over the last 2 weeks also made his mana veins more complex.
After about 2 minutes he seemed to get the hang of the mana technique so rin stoped and started writing this technique down into a blank book.
As that was happening i tried out the technique with my other elements i could use, it worked on most of them like earth mana giving me a higher defense or water gave me slightly faster regen but things like illusion or necromancy didn't give me any noticeable buff and as i was done testing out my new skill i saw that rin completed his manual for the technique.
"So what do you want to do now that we are done and have one more week before you have to go back to school?" Rin asked with a small laugh at the end.
"Do you know any good location where there is a lot of enemies i could mindlessly slaughter?" I asked rin.
"Well the best place for that should be the border between crimson and corruption since both of the creatures are killing eachother on sight and there is a higher concentration of monsters, also a small heads up apparently there are sometimes corruption and crimson hybrids which are quite strong apparently" rin answered giving me a map that shows me where to go.
"Thanks, do you want to go into any of my worlds?" I answered as i copied the map to my system map.
"Send me to noita i want to unseal my sword" rin said looking at his scabbard on his side.
"Oh speaking of that, want me to duplicate and fuse it so it will be twice as good?" I asked rin to which he shook his head and said "i think it will be best to do that after it is fully unsealed".
"Alright do what you wish see you later" i said as we disappeared.
Looking around i see that i am outside of a city so i look at my map and i start running to the borders of crimson and corruption.
12 hours later
'I have arrived and it looks like shit and most abominations here have their physical stats at 150-200 which means that almost all of these inside out assholes have the strength to pick up a school bus which is quite a lot but if i were to use my buffs i should be able to pick up a 10 story building? Probably I didn't try it, hmm rin also told me that the deeper i go into biome the stronger the creatures get... Whatever i just need to raise my secondary class to 25 so i can do that adaptation quest' as i thought about those things i powered up and got ready for slaughter.
